If we get Kimbrow great, if we don't I am not worried about it one bit. Yes 4.3 is a game changer to an extent. A RB who is all of a buck 60 soaking wet is also a liability. I'll take 4.4-4.5 and 200 pounds all day and we have several already on the roster and several more considering the Vols. I hope the staff does not hold spots while kids play the recruiting game. If a good quality back wants to come on board, take him and move on. RB is not a huge priority for us this year IMO. If it comes down to taking a 4 star DT/DE/LB or holding a spot for Mr Kimbrow, I say good luck in the black and gold Brian. JMO

Just saw where Carlos said over on VQ that as it stands right now he doesn't see us getting any of the big 3 RBs in TN. He said that obviously things can change...

That's like saying "I'm 100% sure I am right. However, nothing is certain" just to CYA if you are wrong.

This kid could end up being Randall Cobb 2.0 and some of you act like you wouldn't care if he didn't commit! This guy immediately changes what we can accomplish on offense and makes us a threat that's very difficult to defend.

SAB, get a hold of yourself! He's going to Vandy. It's over.

It's best we all move on

Doesn't Robinson duplicate what we've got in Tom Smith and Imani Cross?

Cross, Smith and Robinson are similar, but not the same. That said, there is a huge difference in recruiting larger, every down type backs versus small, situational types. IF there were no scholarship limits, then sure -- sign Kiombrow up. But we are very limited on how many we can sign this year, and getting a clone of D Young is not a good use of a scholarship for us.

I see no benefit to using one of our scholarships on Kimbrow. I also see no benefit to signing more RB's than Cross and Robinson unless we find a real hoss out there or in the JUCO ranks.

If Kimbrow signs with us, Young will transfer. No offense to him, but Kimbrow>Young.

I like Kimbrow, but I'm not sure it's worth it if he is a supposed package with Redmond.

Kimbrow is not a clone of D. Young. This is getting ridiculous. Anyone who doesn't want to sign Kimbrow is absolutely crazy.

Kimbrow makes D. Young look like a b****. No offense.

I'd like to have him on board but just not sure if taking Redmond to get him is the right move. I'll just trust the coaches judgement here. It will more than likely come down to who else can we get. I've stated twice on here before that Kimbrow just may prefer a spread offense. He's built for that and could see much more playing time in one just like Dexter McCluskey. Dexter did tear us up two years ago and Kimbrow just may do the same if we don't get him, but we don't run the spread offense.

I don't think anyone is saying pass on Kimbrow. If he decides to be a VOL great. I just think if we don't get him, it's not near the loss alot of people think. The kid will be a situational back at best. I would gladly trade him for a bigger back with good speed who can play every down. We are trying to win the SEC, not the Penn Relays.

I don't care if he's a situational back or not. He's good, he's fast, and we need him on our team. The same goes for Redmond. We need them both.

Horrible argument. The backs you're describing we already have or are recruiting as well (Poole, Neal, Lane, Smith, and are recruiting Robinson, and Cross is committed). We need Kimbrow. Period. He brings a facet to the game that we just don't have. He is a game-changer. He's an unbelievable talent. Plus he is #1 on the board undoubtedly.
