I heard a nasty rumor today that Kimbrow is not happy with Tennessee because they "double crossed" one of his friends. Does anyone know what he could be talking about?

(Don't shoot the messenger, just passing along info)

Skeeter mentioned in another thread that we are currently on the outside looking in in regards to Kimbrow's recruitment.

I wonder if this rumor you speak of could be the reason?

Will this even matter once the boosters give him an Escalade and loads of $

I really can't explain why, but i'm not smitten with kimbrow. I just don't see a lot of "wiggle" or fluidity in his running. He's definitely fast though.

because it's true.... this is why a lot of guys hold out till late in the recruiting process.

A degree from Duke.... which is way better than what any of the recruits will get from UT Boosters

Wow really????
come on man!!!!!!!

Can we move on. :mf_surrender: :mf_surrender:

We have had two of the top O-line classes in the country the last two year. We did not have room for Cody. MOVE ON.......

Simmons' Thoughts: It is hard to imagine there being a back with more speed than Kimbrow. This young man consistently runs the 40 yard dash in 4.4 second range and he has been timed multiple times in the 4.3s, and his fastest time is a 4.28. He plays on the football field with that type of speed. He is very tough to tackle in speed, he is tough to contain on the edge, and he is someone that can take it the distance from anywhere on the field. He reminds me as a Warrick Dunn type of back. A guy that can bounce off some would be tacklers, spin off defenders, and someone that just knows how to take a hit.
Recruiting: Kimbrow claims to be open. He grew up a fan of the Miami Hurricanes and he has interest in schools like Notre Dame and USC nationally. All of the in-state schools are pursuing him hard as well.

Simmons has him ranked as the 6th best RB in the South.

some of these kids value a TOP 5 degree more...Wayne Lyons, Avery Walls, Keenan Allen
Golden Tate are a few names over the last few years that spurned major offers from Bama, UF, UT,FSU and UGA for "better" schools.

I just think a lot of teams cooled on him. Maybe it turned out that he wasn't as good as first evaluated.

maybe but he still had offers from Top schools and could have verbal early on...imo when that Top250 kid pass on BCS offers for a Ivy school it signaled a change in many of these kids.

I really never considered the University of California to be a place to get a Top-5 degree. I'm sure they are, but I just never really pictured Cal as a top academic school.

Cals flagship university and number one science school in the country. They produce more PhD in Natural Sciences and Mathematics than any school in the country. Greek squad that plays football! lol
