Even with all his big plays they went 4~6. That should tell you a thing or two.

I know I'm likely to get blown up for this...but I'm seeing ALOT of similarities here to Devrin Young...

Same size, same speed...yet we're all amped (myself included) at the thought of Kimbrow but not for DY...

Is it the East TN vs West TN competition thing that explains this disparity?

Not the same speed and Kimbrow is built more for a RB than DY. Not to mention the overall vision and athleticism. Not knocking your boy, just pointing out the facts. Kimbrow is a top 250 talent, and DY was not so much.

I want to make it clear up front that DY is not my boy...I had no horse in the race when it came to whether or not we should have offered him...I understand the pros and cons of taking his commitment...only time will tell if it was a smart move...

As for Kimbrow...he is 1 inch taller and the same weight...I don't know how that equates to having better size or being built more from RB...

And DY's speed and athleticism are 2nd to none...his measurables when it comes to those things (i.e. 40 time, 100m time, shuffle time, SPARQ score) were off the chart at every camp, combine or track meet that he attneded

Kimbrow is bigger and faster. Competition isn't much different from a team standpoint, but is from an athlete vs athlete comparison.

Kimbrow showed out at the Army Combine too.

Is he really that much bigger?

All I've seen is 5'8" 160...DY is 5'7" 165

I've seen 5'9 165 according to Rivals and 247. He's also got another year to get bigger.

Kimbrow is approaching 40 offers, that tells me all I need to know.

I'm not trying to question whether or not we need to pursue him...just curious about the difference between the two since on paper they seem very similar

Yeah, it is kind of confusing why Devrin didn't get nearly the pub Kimbrow is. Obviously, Kimbrow is the better prospect, but I wonder just how much better?

Big difference is he's faster and more athletic. And he's better. Check his offer list.

Faster than DY? NO. He may have similar skillset and speed, but there are few players in the nation with the speed and agility that DY has. I'll not take anything from Kimbrow, but I saw DY play and watched him jump backward turn, and blow by an entire front seven in an instant. He's pretty amazing.

If Kimbro is comparable to this (and his skillset at RB may indeed make him more valuable ie blocking, reads, etc) then we should be all over him.

Stars and offers don't mean everything. And I can't give a fair assessment as I haven't seen Kimbrow play...but he'd have to be damned impressive to have more raw athletic ability than DY. To each his own. :D

I find this very hard to believe...someone posted DY's times in the DY thread...they were off the chart...especially the shuttle time and SPARQ score

DY's 100 is 10.7, Kimbrow has run a 10.4.
