Anybody else feel like me and want Kimbrow to commit now since Bama and Florida got big time RBs to committ today? I'm the jealous type.

No doubt. With MJ's verbal to the gators I'd like to see Kimbrow and either Cross OR Yeldon become Vols.

his offer list in crazy....coast to coast. UF is close to entering the sweepstakes according to Kimbrow.

You have stated that you all will only take 2 backs this year so with Jones already in the fold (seemingly) do you think y'all would take a committment from Kimbrow and call it a day at RB?

I don't think you all will land him because I think he ends up a Vol, but if you all did that would be a sick combo. They would really compliment eachother well with their different running styles.

Matt Jones stated that Weis wanted to land a speed/slot type guy for the other RB but hearing some talk about Mike Davis...one thing has always been true about UF, we always have speed but when Demps and Rainey leave will only have Blakely with breakaway speed...we could move Vlad Showers and McRoy could get some time at RB but imo will take a true speed guy as the #2 back.

Kimbrow definitely could be that true speed guy and IDK if y'all are still in it with Marshall at all but he is a burner too.

Just got a call from Brian Kimbrow's coach. The kid's getting offers from everywhere, most recently: USC, LSU, Ark, Stan, Neb, Miami, UK etc

I say we take Kimbrow for his talent/speed and payback for bringing your butts into our backyard.

I'd be concerned about Meyer doing this but I'd take Dooley for 100 in this Heavyweight Bout. It's about time we had the homefield advantage on a recruit.

You said in-state. But then you said those players are from Memphis. Memphis is in-state by geography only. Vast majority of 'sports' people in Memphis do not look favorably on UT.

This simply is not true!

We repeatedly hear recruits say that they and/or their parents like or are huge fans of Tennessee in memphis. Cameron Clear, Tino Thomas, Greg King, Brian Kimbrow, Jovon Robinson, Dan Williams, Chris Walker, etc.
This is just of the top of my head but i live close to and work in Memphis. It is a fact that most here love UT football and consider it the home team. Just come to UT Memphis game and you will see, but also living here you hear it and see it all the time.

Until about 4 years ago (pre-Saban) you didnt see this bama UT battle for top guys. Fulmer crapped on Memphis openly and Kiffin didnt care much about in state talent and that is what has caused this recent mess. We need Memphis locked down and DD can and will do it!

There is a lot of fake bandwagon bammers here, especially recently, but they are just Memphis fans who hate TN and pull for TN' s biggest rival because of it. They used to be Florida St. fans then Florida fans and now bammers. Make no mistake though they are the extreme minority and DD can easily take back Memphis!

You all can't blame anyone but yourselves for that one...if your former coach hadn't told Williams and Saulsberry to take a hike they'd both be Gators right now IMO

There are a lot of UT fans here. Silkys plays rocky top just about everytime I go. There is also a lot of Ole Miss fans here. Oxford is only an hour away, but I definitely see more UT fans. The only other SEC teams I see represented here are LSU, Bama, and MSU. It's rare, though. You hardly ever see Arkansas or UF fans here. I see some Vandy people, many of which are students at UTMed.

I don't agree with people saying Memphis isn't really Tennessee in regards to sports. It definitely is, especially since out basketball team has significantly improved over the past 5 or so years.
