yeah i know..... sarcasm. the "espn hates us" crowd got old a long time ago haha

I'll be honest with you, they have 'hated' on us that is for sure, and pre-Saban AL all of the SEC. I was around during Manning's Heisman theft, and all I remember was an all out campaign to give Woodson the award. CW was great, defiantely a Thorpe winner, but hardly had the resume to be the only defensive player EVER to win a Heisman.

That said, I'm willing to forgive and forget if they start showing us some fairness. Only helps us for the future. I would say that CDD being a CNS disciple has not hurt us in their eye's one bit.

I am going to help this post count get started up right here.:) If we get Kimbrow to go with D young will we have our own version of Kenjon Barner and Lamichael James. Talkin about some hot nasty badarse speed, whew! :superman:

What kind of competition does he play against

It is about as solid as you will get for a TN prospect. His team was 4-7. They were not very good, but they stepped up and played MUS, Olive Branch, Whitehaven, Ridgeway, and Mitchell. All of those teams have D1 kids.

His numbers were down to some degree against the better teams, but that could very well be attributable to a poor OL. Put him behind a MUS, Olive Branch, or Ridgeway line and he would have even better numbers IMO.

Like GV2003 said, he plays some of the better, if not the best competition TN has to offer. He plays at East, they're really not that good. I feel bad for their practice facilities, not good.

Must get for 2012. Love the fact he's a Tennessee kid, not a Memphis or Ole Miss kid.

I'tavius Mathers is the running back that plays the best competition in TN. Kimbrow still plays some good competition, though.

thanks for that list. i dont know a whole lot about high school football except that it sucks around here, and alcoa is gonna win the state championship

He didnt do to well against MUS, he didnt have very many yards until he broke a long run in the 4th quarter against their JV. but like you said, his o line wasnt anything special

I agree. Idk if it's the film or what but it didn't look 4.2 or 4.3 speed to me either. Actually his speed didn't impress me at all the last time I watched his vid. Now I'm sure he's a player and does have speed and I'm hoping we get him in the next class, I really do hope we get him, but I wasn't overly impressed with his speed in the film either.

Could be because he is running straight toward you. I know with a camera you can stop action with a lower shutter speed when the object is either coming straight at you or away from you. Maybe someone could find a video of him on the field from a different point of view.

I have heard a few people say that they think that Jaylen Walton may be as good or better than Kimbrow. Thoughts?

Walton is also a very good player. But Kimbrow is on another level IMO. Kimbrow is UT's first priority for the 2012 class.

Kimbrow IMO is clearly the top player in the state for 2012 cycle....

I agree with both of you that Kimbrow>Walton. I had just heard some casual banter form some local coaches on the subject. I was pretty sure that they poster I quoted had watched both play against MUS.
