Who will Kimbrow choose?

I really think he has to be priority #1 for the '12 class. I know there are a ton of really good DTs coming out but we look to be in good shape with the big bodies and next years class really needs to be a play maker class.

He's definitely a top 5 priority for the class. I've personally met him - actually at a service project. He's a good kid. and he's damn fast.

In my opinion, I think Kimbrow, Taylor, Geno Smith are three very important gets for 2012. I'd like to see them get that big gigantic kid Brandon Hill.

Those are going to be very highly touted players in the '12 class, anything can happen in a year in recruiting but it's a good possibility we're in very good position with them, we already are. The '12 class should be big for us..

I think that this upcoming recruiting season is going to be all about the in-state. Kimbrow, Dale, Still, Jaylen Walton, and Dedrick jones. That's just in Memphis.

Jovon Robison over Walton, IMO. Bigger physical back with solid speed to compliment a Kimbrow type. Walton is a Kimbrow type with less upside.

Nathan Cole, the WR from Mitchell may be on that list. Already has offers from Alabama and Ole Miss.

CoCollough might get a look depending on how many OL we take. His size alone will warrant the look. He will need to have a good spring/summer though IMO.

I still wonder how this staff will approach Alex Dale. I think it depends on how many DB's we are after next year.

You said in-state. But then you said those players are from Memphis. Memphis is in-state by geography only. Vast majority of 'sports' people in Memphis do not look favorably on UT.

Dooley has done a good job so far with the coaches and people that matter around Memphis. There is always going to be a lot of competition with Bama, Ole Miss, etc., but Dooley is doing a good job restoring the contempt that Kiffin has built up in Memphis.

I think he likes Tennessee, but at the same time there will be a lot of schools pursuing him this spring, summer and into next fall.

-P.Fortenberry.

Looks like he will be taking his recruitment well into next year.

You come to that conclusion from that quote?

No. Not really just that quote. There have been many conversations and questions on TOS about if Kimbrow would be a recruit that would commit very early (J.Smith) or would take his recruitment on into the next year or even until NSD.

Thought it was a pretty legit question that some would like to discuss. Just was stating how it looks like it will happen.

kinda hard to commit when you DON'T HAVE AN OFFER!

Yeah Kimbrow has a committable offer from the UT Staff. He is their top target for the 2012 class. The player you might have been thinking of is another instate 2012 prospect, Ben Still. He is a very talented OL from Memphis that we still haven't offered yet. So you might have been thinking of him.

Still will get an offer I think they are just waiting till this class is done and evaluate the next class more closely. They have a luxury at OL to be extremely picky in that class and on who they take as it will not be a priority at all.

Next years class is going to be a big one for DE, TE, LB, RB and maybe DT.

I think Kimbrow will be the No. 1 player in the state to start out the rankings because of his performance at the Army combine. I suspect Bowles will be in the top three.
-Fortenberry.

Another good year at the top end of the state ranking for Tennessee. He is this year's Richardson.

Representing his home state seems important to him. Hopefully that holds up - he and Bowles are absolute must gets.

Kimbrow will be a Vol, no worries on that. Just a matter of when.

Personally I would prefer he wait till at least the end of summer so they dont short change him on the stars he deserves.

Cole should be a must get as well. Very talented instate WR. It will be very hard to pull him from Bama though.
