Yes. I'm sure all these football players just love going to broadway to listen to all the live country music. Please.
I love it. I doubt they do.

This is such a cliche of Nashville. The reality is that Nashville is so much more than a country music town. This city has become a melting pot. If you go out and try the scenes around town you quickly realize that most of the people you meet are not from Nashville. There is something for everyone, regardless of what your interests are.
And as much as it may not seem like that big of a deal at first glance, when you have the option of picking a city that has tons of original, city restaurants that are nowhere but in Nashville, and your choice of any kind of bar to hang out at, whether you want dance music, a beer house, or just a chill bar that is trendy.....it's all here. Then add to that that you are just a 4-hour drive from a place like Atlanta where you can go see professional sports if you have time to do that, and come back the same day, or you are a 2 and a half hour drive from going to the Kentucky Derby, or just 3 hours from going to Memphis and seeing their musical history and experience Beale St....... Nashville is a great city to live in for anyone, but especially for young people. I love this town.
I love the Vols, but I've maintained for years that I think Knoxville is a crappy city, and I went to school there and lived it for a year before leaving. It can't compare to Nashville in the slightest. And quite frankly, barring an apocalypse that begins in Nashville, it never will.
AND, as Sab mentioned, star-watching is something the other city's don't have. I don't care about what celebrities I see, personally, but I've seen Keith Urban and Nicole Kidman at church, in public, and Kidman played tennis at the gym I used to go to. At Fido's coffee house, I've seen celebrities galore. At that one spot I've seen Ben Folds, Mat Kearney, Taylor Swift, Tom Brady, & Ed Helms. And for real music fans, Jack White is an f'ing staple in this town. And through all this, I never even mentioned the concerts you can see at the many, many venues in the city.
The bottom line? To high school kids going to college, this is an EASY sell.
