Who will Kimbrow choose?

Word on the street is that Kimbrow is really into sweet tea and he wants a university that can support that love.

Tycoons war is a great read about cornelius.

Stone had vanderbilt as a leader at one point also. I think this will end the same way

Before I say this, I honestly don't think he'll end up at Vandy. But if you look at what Vandy has to offer...playing in the SEC, type of offense, great education, and he would most likely be the most loved football player at Vandy the day he stepped on campus. Vandy will never be a top program but at best, they can have the same type of program as UK. If they landed somebody like Kimbrow, it would be huge for what they're trying to establish there.

The idea of being the main man on campus has to interest alot of these kids. He would have that at Vandy. While Vandy will never be a top SEC team, you still are on TV and get plenty of exposure if your wanting to get to the next level. With PT always a key part of landing these kids, a school like Vandy could probably offer more of it sooner.

I DO hope this young man chooses to be a Vol.

And if he picks Vandy he also gets to stay at home and watch the bowl games including TN which he could have played for.

If this kid wants to be a bigtime football player and he goes to Vandy, then he is making a big mistake. His life, his decision. One guy will have little or no impact on making Vandy relevant in football. A smallish running back will more than likely, end up running for his life behind an under-manned OL.

Considering Vandy's been a hair away from beating us two of the last three years due to their terrible offense, I'd be very scared if they got Kimbrow. Vandy hasn't had a big play threat since the last time they beat us. And there was tons more talent on our roster. Plus if he goes there, that's a huge message he's sending.

Quit the BS, this would be a massive blow to our class this year. And I haven't been keeping up, but 1 legit commit so far this year is a disappointment.

This.

Hope he doesn't go to Vandy but they have already pulled some good recruits this year...not impossible.

Also, I've heard Vandy will try to run it's offense similar to Oregon...and he would be a feature (like James RB) in that offense, I've wondered how effective he'd be in our offense.....Chaney will continue to resort to the pass and would most likely be a change of pace guy/quick hitter.

I can see him going to Vandy, and wouldn't really blame him, if he thought that was best for him.

Why? Last year this time they had Harris and Posey. The next ones came in mid-June around the camps iirc. The first 4* commit didn't come until August.

UT's commits came later but when they came they didn't waiver very much. If you are really disappointed right now then you'll probably be disappointed every year at this time. Later public commitments seem to go with the recruiting methods UT is using.

pt, this staff is incredible at recruiting.

We are not Texas where we lock up the 4 and 5 stars a year before NSD. We will close well.

Chaney is the OC. Dooley is HC. Dooley says he wants to run the ball. Running the ball is an absolute necessity for UT to get back to the championship level.

BK's opportunities at UT as a RB are stronger than at Vandy.

I wouldn't "blame him"... it would just be an extremely stupid move.

I can understand it in the first year, from a complete unknown. He now has a resume to show to these kids. He has an M.O. I'm not looking for the class to be half full with 5 stars right now, but there's no reason for it to be near June with 1 commit that actually make it to campus next year. I don't care about stars, just give me something. Anything.

Stop Yelling!

and Chaney is running the offense.....

...and he is not an every down back for UT, he may be in a spread offense.

Yes, there is a reason. You can agree or disagree with the philosophy if you want. But the fact is that Dooley utilizes a recruiting philosophy that makes the process a long drawn out courting of potential bride(s) instead of a shotgun Elvis Chapel wedding. He wants to be sure the players they take commitments from are the absolute right type of kids for our program (that includes visits to campus and with the coaches) and he wants the players to make sure they are comfortable and committed to the UT program before they commit.

This. Texas does not recruit. If they had to recruit in the SEC, they may end up dead meat. Their players just show up on the front door step and say I want to play for the horns coach. Florida was the same way under Urban. (I kid of course but but not too far off.)

Is anyone else laughing at these people thinking Kimbrow will be at Vandy? Is anyone laughing at the recruiting meltdown?

He said Vandy is his leader..........for real....relationship to position coach is key for him. Sounds like Vandy has a heck of a recruiter for RB coach.

Does he have grades to get into Vandy? What kind of student is he?
