Wish we would have gotten Anderson last year. TE from GA that went to usce. I think TE's have really made a resurgence in most offenses now because of the flexability of the position in the spread. It can really create match-up problems if you have several well rounded guys at the position. I definetely feel that UT is headed that direction. We could probably use another Cottam if there are any left.

He runs harder than I thought he would. He's seems like a powerful blocker too. Surprised he's only a 3 star. Whoever said he didn't start for his time JMoore has to be off.

Idk what to believe, scouts say he is a good pass catching TE that can stretch the field but people that live in S.C. & have seen him play say that he is highly overrated & doesnt even start at T.L. Hanna.

I dont buy that at all. They're probably just butthurt because he didn't go to South Carolina or Clemson. Meredith will do good things here at Tennessee imo.

This is a guy I definately wan tfor this class. One thing that will definately help our run game is when we start seeing more 2 TE sets, and with the future looking Clear (sorry for the bad pun) that we have guys to run it, well I'm Downs with that (doh!).

Rivals kind of shafted us on the last update...dropping Meredith and Taylor...

I know it doesn't really matter but still sucks to those of us who care about their team rankings

I know it sucks, its nice to be in the Top 10 but in the Croom thread his Mom (MRZTERRY) talks about the recruiting services,rankings and camps , its pretty interesting . you should check it out

Some info I've found around other boards about Meredith:

He was a 4* top TE in the nation before the recent rivals updates, he was dropped to a 5.7 3*. Some people say that Meredith is highly overrated & didnt even start for his HS team.

Now Scouts say that Meredith is a pass catching TE, has great hands & ball skills (no homo), he struggles in run blocking & he is someone you can bring out of the backfield or split out wide, he is a stretching the field vertically type of TE. He needs to add some more weight & bulk up.

UT needed this kinda player tho badly IMO. JM is a great pickup, and I'm glad to see us filling our needs in recruiting! GBO!
