IMO…this should be our base set on offense for the rest of the year and we should be in it 67% of the time (or more if needed)…

Kittselman and Bru have the most dependable hands on the team (and they do everything else really well too)…Ethan Davis is pretty much a big WR anyway that could split out to the slot in some situations…Staes and Thornton have been more than serviceable in their playing time…no other WR has proven they can be relied on when it matters…WR drops have been a consistent killer to this offense and we’re lucky they haven’t cost us more so far…

This set emphasizes our clear strength (run game) and still gives us plenty of ways to be dynamic in the passing game…I don’t think it’s any coincidence that the last time we looked good on O was two games (NC St and OU) where we led with this set…

JMO…OMO…GBO…VFL…WGWTFA!!

Nico played well last night.
He played really well. 28/38 292yds and 1 TD-hit 3 receivers with perfect TD balls that would have made him 31-38 for well over 300yds with at least 3 TD. Scrambled for a big 4th down pick up.
We won and that's always good but we had 40 points easily yesterday. Nico was not a problem

better*

couple times he could have run for first down. then again, play calling just isn't great either

Play calling was fine last night. Players making mistakes was the problem. Last night it was primarily the WRs not catching the ball.

Vols left a boatload of points on the field with these mistakes.

Seeing this offense run wide open, is a thing of beauty. Granted was against FAU. USF is able to run it, up tempo. Get to line fast, and get run game going. We run tempo last night, and we score two more times at least.

Kentucky didnt belong on same field as us.

We moved the ball at-will last night. Mistakes killed us.

Let me be more specific.

Anywhere from 40yard line in to End zone. Gotta find a way to go tempo. Also, Conference has to address officials inserting themselves for screen time.

How many times do we come set and they are interrupting play to review, waive a flag, or stand over the ball. Way too many ticky tacks and non calls on Ky.

No, they went to 12 personnel against OU because of both starting tackles being out. The offense has looked good from the 2nd half of the Bama game to last night. They just have to execute better. Nico looked a lot more relaxed and comfortable last night. He was playing with confidence and showed command of the offense. The throw to Nimrod was a NFL throw in a tight window. Nimrod needs to catch that ball with his hands, he let it get into his body and tried to catch it with his arms. Brazzell should have caught his, I can give him a little grace for his winning catch against Bama. Kistleman was a tough catch that the defender put a hat on. He needs to have stronger hands and make that catch if he wants to play on Sundays. The O-line is getting better each week, the more they play together the better they will get. Continuity is a big thing with O-lines. The light has come on for Nico and he has more faith in the O-line so he can play more relaxed.
