That is always a big concern to me. When a guy isn't even the best player at his position on his high school team.

For example, Orta last class.

He's one of the best players in the state no doubt....he is athletically better than McMullen but needs to fill-out and gain strength, IMO once he does, the sky is the limit for him...plus he's still growing sounds like he'll be closer to 6'5" when he gets to UT

nobody seems to know if he's and EE?

I'm willing to say that he will be and like Peterman and Bell, the coaches told them if they will commit to being EE's then they'll take their commitments. just a thought...

+1. McMullen is a much better prospect. Lewis is a solid prospect but he is not close to being the best DE in the state and there is nobody up here that truly thinks he is.

I've seen LaTroy play basketball numerous times; he is not that gifted of an athlete.

Me and you must be watching different guys...McMullen is like a statue on the court, his muscle helps him out but not to fluid....I just feel like, in the long run, Lewis blossoms into the better player on the football field?

What highschool do you follow?

McMullen is just huge and gobbles up rebounds. LaTroy had like 2 points against us. Was not impressive. McMullen does look confused on the court tho. On the football field, LaTroy uses his quickness off the line mostly to gain an advantage. Both players take a lot of plays off on the football field as well.

No doubt. Wormley is the best DE in the state IMO. Followed by Strobel.

Obviuosly Washington is up there too although I still think his best position in college is as an OLB in a 3-4 or as a MLB in a 4-3.

Like I said I think Lewis is a solid prospect but he is not as good or as talented as those guys.

Didn't really have that aggressive mentality that you want. Took SEVERAL bites off and left the crumbs for someone else to clean up. Could be an indicator of character issues JMO

rivals has him 3* espnu has him 4*..........this star system gets on my nerves. but i do think he would fit in 3-4 D as LB just from seein him play as of now

I'm not too sure his technique was that far behind any of the other guys on the OL.

Lewis's HS bookend teammate McMullen committed to Nebraska. He's about 30 pounds stronger than Lewis, who is faster. LL took a visit, but Nebraska didn't offer both of them. Here's some mb chat on Lewis.
