'12 NC RB Keith Marshall (UGA Commit)

UGA's RB depth chart is not exactly stacked, especially considering that Ealey and King have been trying to torpedo their playing careers since day one. At most they would overlap a year with Marshall anyway. Other than that it is really just Crowell and Malcome.

The only attitude I care about coming out of Athens is that the coaches are finally sick of recruiting by the rules while everyone else around them gets their man by hook or crook with no consequences. I am actually quite happy that the staff finally got slapped with some secondary recruiting violations. This is the SEC. Stay clean and become Vandy. I think it took going up against the slime of Kirby Smart and Kiffin for them to finally realize it.

And no I am not naive. I am guessing just as many $100 dollar handshakes are occurring at UGA as any other school, but I really don't care about money given to athletes after they are in school. Yes, it is still cheating, but really there is no competitive advantage at that point. The problem with the NCAA is they simply can't see the forest for the trees and keep worrying about the post-matriculation crap rather than rooting out the far more serious problem of paying recruits or promising to pay recruits. That is where the biggest competitive advantage comes in to play.

Marshall recently cut his list down to 12 schools. UT, not surprisingly, wasn't one of them. Better luck next time.

"Alabama - They have a great program and have produced a lot of good running backs.

"Auburn - They just won a National Championship and I really like the coaching staff.

"Clemson - Good tradition and usually have a good program.

"Florida - Great program and their new staff has had a lot of success in college and in the NFL.

"Florida State - They normally have a good program and they are on the rise.

"Georgia - They always have good RB's and I like the coaches.

"Michigan - Great tradition and good school.

"North Carolina - Program on the rise and a great school.

"Notre Dame - Great school, great tradition, and they are on the rise.

"South Carolina -Have a good program and I like the coaches.

"Stanford - Good program but great school.

"USC - Have a winning tradition and a tradition of having great RB's."
-Rivals.

If our staff stays, Marshall will be a Dawg (its what I've heard). Look for Marshall to commit during the season if we start out strong and put an end to the whole Richt-hot seat discussion.

Till UGA gets blown out in neyland...

It will be here before you know it. Neyland Stadium is a tough place to play, we have been run out of there the last 2 times. We'll see how this year turns out. I'm sure Dooley will have your boys ready to go since we ran you guys out of Athens last year with a BEATDOWN.

If Georgia doesn't win the East this year he will (and should) be gone.

Different QB, different year...

The UGA loss last year was by far the worst.

Those expecting a beatdown need to get some perspective. With Dooley at the helm UGA will always be up for UT.

It's going to be an epic series.

A good portion of our fanbase, probably the majority right now, would agree with you 100 percent.

I personally would have to somewhat disagree with you. Alot can happen in a season to set that kind of a bar for Coach Richt. We can have a team from the East catch fire and go undefeated. What if we only lose one game and obviously not win the East? I wouldn't want to get rid of the coaching staff. I'm more concerned with how our team performs during the season.

Marshall has been offered by Miami, Wake Forest, & Purde. Coaches from Auburn, Duke, East Carolina, Florida State, Georgia, Miami, Michigan, North Carolina, Notre Dame, South Carolina, and Tennessee have stopped by to check on Marshall this week.

Received and offer from Oregon today.

That's all that Oregon needs! Another speed back. That was their missing piece to the National Championship. If they just had any speed at all they could have beat Auburn. This Marshall kid could bring Oregon to the next level.

But seriously Marshall would fit in nicely at Oregon. They utilize speed backs very well. They already have all kinds of speed at the RB position including James, Barner, and Seastrunk. Marshall would just add to the total. I would much rather see Marshall in an Oregon uniform than a UGA or UF uniform. Don't want to have to play against this kid if we could help it.

FSU, Cal, Purdue, Stanford & Tennessee all stopped by Millbrook HS to check on 5-star RB Keith Marshall at same time today. He is special.

So you're sayin' there's a chance...

So your saying that when Hill was told he would be the last RB taken it was not accurate? I figured that we may have a silent...but not several.

We're still looking for a running back. We would have taken Mathers.

Remember Keyante Green was told we were taking 5. You can't always go by what the recruits say.

I for one hope it's just a misunderstanding and not our staff just straight up lying to kids and telling them what they want to hear. We could have alot of decommitments if that were the case.
