'12 NC OT D.J. Humphries

Everyone posting on here wanted DJ, don't be those fans that now downgrade the guy because he went to Florida, if you read through the earlier posts, he was the best recruit all TN fans wanted. He is 6'6 270 lbs, and as a high school senior, that's plenty big enough. And he's athletic as any OL I've seen on tape

So I don't see our coaches giving up on a guy that we were pretty close with, but how hard do you all think we still recruit him. I mean OL isn't a big need, but DJ is pretty good and has some potential.

He's better than pretty good and is a great pickup. Wed love to have him.

He was never the one everyone wanted and several people brought up the likelihood of a redshirt, especially at UT, quite some time ago. He is athletic. So is Carl Lewis.

Every person who has graded recruits thinks DJ is a better prospect than Tiny. That's nothing against Tiny, but for you to say Tiny is better than a 5* OT ranked the #3 prospect in this class, is nothing but a homer view, seriously

Why dont you watch Tiny play at the college level before you make a stupid statement like that. Just so you know, star gazer, stars mean nothing. You act like its impossible for a lower rated player to be better than Humphries.

You're right, had he gone to TN, fans wouldn't care, he was just gonna redshift because there's 6 better OL on TN's team..... I love it

Havent seen anyone dogging DJ, just that he'd likely need a redshirt if he was a Vol, which is certainly a possibily. What do you want man, a board full of Vol fans crying and lementing the loss of our only chance at greatness, and switching our allegience to UF because they have all the talent we can only dream of getting? Seriously guy, you got a great player, go enjoy it with other gator fans. JMO

Sorry but he would have. No possible way he would start over the guys we have now with two years under their belts. Doesn't mean anyone wanted him less just means as we have said all along it won't hurt to lose him.

So because he the 5th best OT and a 5 star,DJ is better than JaWuan James who was a 4 star and 6th best OT in 2010.

Im not saying Tiny is better than Humphries, but he has clear as day advantage over him in terms of strength and size. You're the one acting as if there aint a player out there better than the guy all because of him being a 5 star OT. I bet if we were to compare him to any of the O-Lineman on UF's roster then you're opinion would change though.

Tiny is on a college campus. DJ hasn't played his SR year of hs ball. I don't give a flip what a recruiting service says. I'd say the same thing if the roles were reversed.

Unless he can play center....James and Tiny better tackles. Jackson and Stone better guards. Bullard at center. Yes with our depth he would redshirt

I'm still waiting on your wife's picture and pay stub. You promised.

It's actually the truth, he probably would have redshirted.

Santos is a much bigger get for us than DJ is a loss. It is a great pickup for Florida considering their needs and would have been fantastic for us all the way around, but if we get Jelks we should be ok in the OL.

Of course the coaches won't give up on DJ, but we have bigger needs and I would prefer they start focusing on the defense to build on the momentum provided by Santos. Autry, O'Brien, a couple of de's and more lbs, and we will look good.

I don't give a crap your silliness, but without some size, he's redshirting at either place. Get over it.

Exactly. Go back and look through the thread. It was said many times and also that it wouldn't be a big loss for us. Yes , we wanted him at Tennessee and we still do. But it's been posted here many times about what he would likely do if he came here. He's going to be a good one. Nobody is saying he sucks. If anything , the thought of getting a 5 star player was more important than anything else to us.

We also forget about Clear who may grow into a great OT.Most kids that are big athletic TE that grow into OT are usually pretty good.

Clear is a taller, more athletic version, but hasn't had the tutoring that Humphries has.

We're not as worried about DJ as we are about seeing a picture of your wife in nothing but her UT nametag. Make it happen or get out because 99 already has the gator troll spot filled, and there can only be one.
