I won't have time to do any sigs/avatars for about 3 weeks, but if you want to PM me an idea you have I'll work on it when I get the chance. From there we can refine it.

FWIW, skeeter has been giving good info on ESPN for over 3 years. He has built up what I believe to be a solid reputation. If he hasn't heard anything, nothing is being said.

I don't get why a select few feel this way. Yeah, we've got a great OL, but what about down the road a few years from now? If we wanna keep the OL as strong as it is now, we have to keep bringing in elite O-lineman year in and year out. Also, who's to say he can't come in right away and start? D.J. IS VERY IMPORTANT.

chh said if the kid didnt go to to fnl that he was a vol, and sounded very confident in saying so. maybe dj was excited and made whatever comments he made to chh because of the excitement, i dont know. i wasnt there for the convo. the last thing i heard about the situation was collins was really working dj and his mom, i can only assume that meant working him for uf. i have heard from more than 1 person that mr collins all but promised dj to the uf coaching staff long ago. thats about all i know of the situation.
like i said earlier, if we can afford a miss, wr and oline is where its at. if dj wants to play rite away, uf is def the better place for that. anyway i got to run, ill find out about the announcement via text because ill be on the road.

And the fact that skeeter seemed ALOT more confident he was a Vol two weeks ago also makes me think he's a Gator.

Like everyone keeps saying, nobody said DJ was a Vol. Skeeter said 1 coach THINKS he's a VOL, so he THINKS he's a Vol too... "thinks" being the operative word here.

One of our most trusted guys, SprinbokVol, says that Humphries reaffirmed what he told the coaches 2 weeks ago yesterday...we shall see! Thanks again for the knowledge.

Im not saying he's not important, im saying OL is not a position of need at the moment. Yes, we need to bring in top O-Lineman every year, but my point is DJ will most likely red shirt. So he wont even be able to play next year. Diamond is still available, and if we get him in for a visit, I think we have a good chance with him. Not to mention, most people believe Jelks is a Vol. So either way, we will still get a good O-Lineman before its all said and done.

And the reason I wrote what I wrote is because that is what I was told - I was not on the call. I do not know what was actually said or how it was interpreted.

I am inferring that it is good news - connected to good news from two weeks ago.

This recruiting sure gets muddy.

Coaches get lied to. Players play games. Handlers mislead and control. Parents try to influence. HS coaches guide.

Recruiting is probably my least favorite and most favorite part of college football. :crazy:

Its now more about the saga than the recruit, IMO. You get hooked on the back and forth and then you just want to win, whether its really that big a deal or not.

Unfortunately, this is one we lost. There'll be others.

Guys. Let's be honest. A five star player would look quite out of place with the players we have committed now. Just kidding. I wish we could have landed him, but oh well. At least Dooley still has time to make up ground. The coaches, looking in comparison to their rivals, have got to be somewhat disappointed.
