Itg guy who texted him to tell him he was at itg but somehow had enough of a vibe to think gator. I call BS. Not BS on him being a gator but him talking to anyone else in an honest convo outside of UF or UT coaches.

Maybe, but not what i was talking about bro.

Because the "wealth of talent and depth" that UF has signed the last 5 years is a myth, but somehow keeps getting passed down. We have 71 kids on scholly right now, and only 4 are DT's. When you have kids who listen to the lies of rival coaches about "you will never play at Florida" or kids leaving early for the draft (Moss, Harvey, Dunlop, Cunningham) just to name a few, it happens.........

We have nowhere near the depth on the lines people want to believe.

Are you saying Urban wasn't quite the recruiter he got credit for being? Again, I am not sure how you have classes ranked that highly and end up with no OL.

He was absolutely a monster recruiter.

Part of that problem is you have kids leave early for the NFL, or you have kids who feel they won't play quick enough and so they leave. When it happens at the same time, it's a double whammy.

You get enough kids to buy into the "you won't ever play at Florida" crap, it takes it's toll.

I went back and looked at your last 4 classes... In his last three he signed a total of 8 OL's. I'm sorry but that isn't kids leaving early. That's Fulmeresque. UT is still trying to recover from his lack of DL recruiting.

Same as we are in some ways. I am just glad you recognize that we aren't in near the shape people think we are in right now.

Meh, it is what it is. We aren't going to be very good this year, and it will take some time before we are competitive again imo. I imagine we will follow up last year's stellar performance with another stellar performance this year.

I credit Muschamp for saying he knows he needs to win now and he doesn't have a 5 year plan, because he can't. I told a few of my UT friends, it's just our turn in the barrel right now and we have to make the best of it.

It's up to him to right the ship for us.

well when you are in the SEC you are going to have great talent but leaving early is just something that comes with the talent and its up to the coaches to recruit position needs so they stay high in talent in the SEC. i mean look at alabama last year 4 players in the first round but yet they got good recruiting so thats why they are good every year...

The worst thing Fulmer did was fail to recruit/retain linemen. Dooley has gone a long way toward correcting that. It is probably the best thing he's done. I am still unsure about the DL but haven't felt this good about the OL talent in a VERY long time.

and you got to remember that they are still young and will continue to put on weight every year to get bigger

Fulmer had no excuses. He was a hc who was an o lineman himself. He got lazy.

This. I think both coaching staffs like their chances with him. So when the Mods get in touch with them, they will give a favorable answer. We'll just have to see

Hasn't it been mentioned on here HH already was told? I'm not going to take the time to go searching but I'm pretty sure it was somewhere Heistand was yelling and extremely excited over the news. Not sure how true it was and couldn't remember who posted it. Hopefully its true and we know he's a Vol.

I think what you are referring to is when Skeeter said that DJ all but committed to Coach Heistand. Yeah I mean I think you're right but things in recruiting can change. DJ has stated that the Gators have led the entire process up until Skeeter dropped that bomb a week or so ago.

You may be right I just remember something along those lines. Wouldn't surprise me if he did committ but either way it can't come soon enough.

If he chooses FL, I do not see him visiting us the next day..
What would be the point of announcing on the 5th if he wanted to visit Tennessee again..
Looks like he wants to announce Tennessee on the 5th and eat it up in ktown the next day

If he's still sticking by his visit on the 6th I don't see how you can see him going anywhere else. If he changes his mind or cancels that visit then that's pretty telling. Fingers crossed Skeeter hears no change of plans come Monday.

This is how I'm thinking. If the trip to Knoxville on the 6th is true, VOL IMO.
