HG just confirmed the rumor that's floating on twitter. He didn't give us the GC response to the twitter rumor and that's what I really want to hear. HG if you're out there what do your mods over there say about rumors about Humphries?
Sorry I'm late with the Gator "info"..had to pull the g/y shift last nite.
Here what I have from the Gator site:
1) DJ is/was on campus at UT this weekend. One source close to the family is saying he has committed to UT. He posted the twitter comment after he heard about the "leak".
2) 2 of the 3 Gator sites are saying the rumors have "legs". DJ hasn't reply to any txt to confirm his status for FNL....
"He wasn't going to camp at FNL in the first place. The very last interview he did, about a week ago, he clearly said UF was still the leader with TN second. This is recruiting, anything can happen."
"I haven't been able to reach DJ as he has cut off interviews with the media. But I was told that he might be at FNL but wasnt sure yet. He has always told me that Florida was his leader."
Jeff Barlis, over on Gatorsports.com, has indicated that Humphries will be at FNL, but not work out.
He updates his list regularly, including an update today. He is still indicating that Humphries will be at FNL.
I think the Vols might even be the favorite now, different from what I heard earlier in the week. It certainly has gotten interesting!
FWIW, I heard his family really wants him to be in Knoxville due to proximity to the family, so I say it's very possible you guys might win this one.
I guess the key is to remember that no recruit is ever make or break for a program. You win some/lose some, and move on.

I certainly think alot can be said about that strategy. What family wouldn't want their kid within driving distance and be able to see them every Saturday?LOL prolly one of the very few times that geography is a plus for UT and a negative for UF.
I guess this is part of DD's recruiting 'process' focusing on that 6 hour radius. I hope this is a sign of things to come focusing on the carolinas and virgina would certainly help speed up the recruting process.

Yeah, we need him, but you know as well as I do, no prospect is a "must-get".
You never know how these kids will pan out.

BIG loss.....I don't believe Muschamp will give up on DJ but guess it's time to make up with Pat Miller! :cray:. Out of the 3 "must have" on offense, DJ was the BIG one on the board.

Oh, I agree. This loss is critical for us if it comes out like it sounds like it will. You need all the big uglies you can get and Muschamp certainly can't afford to lose recruiting battles.
That being said, one recruit is never a must-get imo. Do we need him? Yes. Does it hurt to lose him? Yes.
Given all that, this will be the biggest "sting" Muschamp has had in a recruiting loss this year. He knows he can't afford to lose too many of them if he wants to rebuild the program in the direction he wants to go with running the ball.
