'12 NC OT D.J. Humphries

Although it's not going to be easy, because he seems to like Florida alot, but we very much have a chance with him. In fact I have him along with 3 other 5 star players committing and signing with us. But that's just my opinion though.

Who are the others you're thinking about bud?

Well call me crazy but along with Humphries, I see us getting Stefon Diggs, Darrius Hamilton, and Jonathan Bullard. Like I said though that's my opinion. Even though we haven't been all over Diggs he still likes us alot and if we can get him on campus then we could very well get him. Also I think we're in the top 5 with both Hamilton and Bullard.

Nice list there. Would be great if your prediction comes true.

Thanks I like to be optimistic, I hardly ever try to be pessimisstic. If we can get those guys we will surely have a top 10 class.

Humphries knows exactly what he's looking for. He just needs to figure it all out.

"The main thing for me is that I feel at home," Humphries said. "After I graduate I may want to live there. I want to pick a place where the town feels like home. I want to pick a program with a welcoming staff and a coaching staff that has stability. I want to play at a school with tradition and with a great playing style that will highlight and development my talents."

That all sounds like Tennessee. Definitely tradition, welcoming staff.

Town you want to live in has to be Tennessee or North Carolina, because I have no idea who wants to be in Columbia or Gainesville.

Now we just have to convince him that the coaching staff is stable and will develop him.

+1 i agree with everything you've said here.

If Mo Collins wasn't involved, I'd say this kid would already be a Vol. Unfortunately, we are trailing UF right now, but most say the longer this recruitment goes out, the better our chances.

the longer he waits to make his decision the better i like our chances. would be very surprised to see him go anywhere but UF or UT. i'm going to go ahead and make my prediction that D.J. will be a Vol on NSD.

"I have set up one official visit so far and that's when Alabama plays at Florida [Oct. 1]. I am excited about taking my official visits. That's why I haven't committed yet. I would like to make all of my visits."

I wish we didn't play at Florida and Alabama in the same year. I know Dooley is big on having the official visits after the season, but we have to bank on LSU and UGA as our impact games this year for recruits.

Does that mean we banked on the FL and AL games last year when we got our butts kicked?? We just have to win all the games that we are supposed to win and 1-2 games we aren't supposed to and we will be fine. If we beat FL or AL at home or away, the impact on the recruits will be HUGE. A big win this year will show we are moving the right direction. Winning fixes everything.

I do agree that winning will improve recruiting, however having one marquee game at home every year against one of our huge rivals would do a lot for recruiting as well I think. If Tennessee and Florida are both winning, and you wanted to experience the best game day experience at each school, wouldn't you want to go to a game against the biggest rival if possible? Since we play both Alabama and Florida every year, this is something that would be feasible for us...if we didn't play both of them home or away each year.

And as I'm sure you might of guessed from the above paragraph, I'm thinking long term here. Last year was a rebuilding year. Rebuilding years are different animals.

Even though Oregon isn't a rival, I really thought that was the best game as far as atmosphere all year long, so if we were on the upswing we would of have three great games for recruits to visit. This year we have LSU or UGA, which may or may not fit the bill.

This is the kind of player Tennessee used to always get from North Carolina. UT really needs to get him.

Seems like we are kind of banking on Humphries at the OT position. I cannot think of any other big time names at OT that we are pursuing. Hope that means the coaches are confident.

I hope you are right and I haven't noticed any others either.

Awesome. He'll be in Gainesville to watch Alabama wipe the floor with the Gators.
