'12 NC OT D.J. Humphries

Florida and Tennessee have been out in front for Humphries for a long time. What will it take for a team like North Carolina or North Carolina State to make a run at the Vols and Gators?

"It's going to take a heck of a lot," Humphries said. "They are both great places and it's pretty hard at this stage in the game for someone to catch them. They will have to show me something I've not seen before. Something out of this world."

This kid would be a much welcomed addition to the offense if we can get him. I hope we can get some top DL talent looking our way soon.

On what days of July does the camp start? definately need the rock painted then also!!!

They may not get noticed by recruiting services as highly as skill players, but they are right behind qb for importance. If the qb has 2 seconds to throw the ball, he will not look good. If the rb has d-line in backfield he will not look good. We need this guy! GBO!

Hubbs said yesterday that we are in as good of shape with him without him being a commitment. He said as everyone knows it is a TN/Florida battle. Do we have the edge on Florida or is it too early to tell?

I realize I am going to have Vol fans going crazy with my next comment, but we desperately need this kid in Gainesville.

We desperately need this kid in Knoxville! lol

I think the Vols win out in the end. He lives just over the mountain and has visited multiple times. Plus he is coming again in July.

this is the type of kid that every program desperately needs. Him and Tiny as bookends in 2013 or 2014 is an exciting thought

Yeah the poor Gators need him more than the Vols, who have a front 7 of players that mostly started their careers at other positions and 40 pounds lighter. We NEED a blue blood DT.

He's an OT, not a DT

SIAP. From Jamie Newberg at ESPN:

"I am down to three or four schools," Humphries said. "I like South Carolina, Florida, Tennessee and Auburn. I have been to all four schools. I will do a lot of praying and stay in contact with the coaches. I pick their brains and am constantly getting time with those guys. I have to figure out the coaches. I also need to spend time in town with the players and coaches to get to know them better.
