While I feel that we are in a good position with DJ...him not going to FNL does not mean he is a lock for us IMO. It's not a short drive from NC to Gainesville. If the kid was set on going to UF...there would be no real reason for him to go down again unless he wanted to do it to help them recruit. By him not going...he causes quite a stir before his commitment. Maybe we will get something as little more concrete before Aug 5th to go on.

Since you are relatively new to the board, it does mean a lot that Skeeter pretty much said he was going to UT and wouldn't go to FNL and then he said he wouldn't go to FNL. Skeeter is great on information, and usually when it aligns that means it's probably correct.

Skeet = concrete.

I know all about Skeeter as I was around for all last years recruiting(I changed my board name when I moved to Florida). I have been around VN for maybe 3-4 years now. With that being said...Skeeter himself said that you can't always trust what a recruit says. GW and LD taught us that. I like our chances...but I am not counting him as a VOL until the he goes public. He used his dad working as a reason to not go to FNL....if Mo Collins did offer to get him there and he said no thanks...It all points to him in Orange.

If he commits to UT or UF he's still a soft verbal if he takes his OV's imo...anything can happen on those visit but he'll be a Vol on Aug 5th.

I like really like this last part but I agree his recruitment is far from over and I think which ever school that gets him is going to have to work to keep him.

depends on DJ taking visits. No visit means he's 100% solid but if he takes visits it always a chance. UF doesn't have to sell itself to DJ, they've already done that. Atp its about getting his family "sold" on UF.

Not quite. They still have to sell UF over UT and Hiestand. Just reading through all the comments, Hiestand seems to be the linchpin for the Vols.

IF UF was 3-4 hours away they would be the choice imo. Nothing Hiestand could have said on that visit wasn't said on the past 5 or 6 trips.

The parents are the key here. Distance is EXTREMELY important to them and DJ also.

That is the main reason we are likely going to land him over gata's.
