'12 MS LB Richie Brown

Yeah, I wouldn't hook my mom up with any tickets if she did that to me.

Very awkward.

I must say though, it was also very hilarious. While low to punk your child on national television, it didn't really leave a bitter taste in my mouth to see a Bammer commit to get told. Now, I don't have kids, so one day my opinion on this type of subject may be more vehement.

I'm a greedy recruitnik and I want this richie brown fellow on our defense!

The Richie to OM rumor is starting to get some traction. I don't think MSU will even be a factor in the end. It will probably be OM with USM a distant second. As I said last night, it sounds like Richie's mom is really in favor of OM. The rest of the family is indifferent. Also, a few of the OM coaches have started to reach out to Richie's extended family (including ARIK). Finally, word is that OM asked him to reschedul his USM visit for next week to give opposing coaches less ability to communicate with him down the stretch. As you all know, OM is his last visit. It really isn't looking good for us.

If he's big in to FCA, then Ole Miss is going to be the school for him. And no, that's not a joke. Many members of the new coaching staff, including Freeze (he might be an ordained Baptist preacher, I forget if that's a fact, though), are very involved in FCA.

This is definitely a big part of the rumors circulating around OM; even though I think Freeze is a tremendous phony. The guy is a car salesman no better than Houston Nutt.

When I read the quote that Richie is interested in FCA, I immediately knew it would be nearly impossible to pull him from Ole Miss. Things might have been even at one time, but in the end feel Freeze and their LBs coach would make the difference for Richie.

I've never thought he was a real possibility for UT, and I rarely ever make predictions on recruits.

Well if Richie chooses Ole Miss for FCA and family then you can't blame him. I wish the best for him, except of course, when he plays Tennessee.

Yeah, but not like this, and DEFINITELY not like this amongst his final 3 schools.

It is pretty big at OM now. Trust me though, it is just for images sake. Heck, they just put a guy on staff (whose last name happens to be Kiffin) that has a criminal record. Talk about inmates running the asylum. OM will be an even bigger mess very soon.

We need Chaplain Roger Woods to go on an FCA recruiting trip! Can't imagine that would be legal at all. Maybe pitching the VFL program along with the strength of UT's FCA will help us.

Seems like a longshot getting him out of Mississippi.

Chris Kiffin started at Arkansas State as a GA so there's definitely going to be a familiarity with him by Freeze and Wommack. He was elevated to DL coach last year by Wommack, IIRC. I'm shooting from the hip here, but I think he had a DUI. I wouldn't judge the whole staff based on one guy's past transgressions. They know him and who he is, how he's changed.

Edit: Misdemeanor burglary for breaking into two vans. Sorry.

The hatred you show for Oxford is inspiring. :)

When it comes down to it if Brown wants to play for a team (on his list and vice versa) that has the best chance for ultimate success than it's UT. Miss St is solid but they r in the west and they won't break into the top there any time soon. OM is a big mess and will be tough to turn around. USM is the easiest of them all but they r having to break in a new coach too.

I knew UTs distance would be a factor. I also had a feeling he would want to stay in state for the love of the state which is not a bad thing. UT offers him the ability to play, but not have the whole world on his shoulder. Not saying he won't want that but it's tough to succeed when it's on u and don't have the team around u to depend on. It'll be tough both physically and mentally at a place like OM atm. Just IMHO that's all....

Don't get me wrong, I enjoy Oxford. The campus is really nice and I have had great experience sat the law school. However, I get tired of the holier than thou attitude. Plus, the athletics are horrible. I have tried to get behind the teams here. It's really hard with the way things are run though.

Still holding out hope. Would be huge for R.Brown to pick UT. I just have a feeling he is going to be a great college LB. Want him doing big things at UT, not Ole Miss or M.State.
