'12 MS LB Richie Brown

All UT fans have suffered unfortunately. I don't even recognize what I've been seeing at Neyland the last few years. It's not even in the same stratosphere to where we were in the late 90's. I think all the fans are dying to be a winning program again. All the disrespect out there from rival fans is tough to swallow. One of my best friends family is originally from right outside Birmingham so I know what you're dealing with.

I marvel at how people, at the very least cannot support Dooley as he lays a foundation. At the least, he is bringing in solid talent

Win or lose this year, who knows. He did fullfill a promise to upgrade the roster. Nobody can hate on his recruiting skills. I hope the staff changes bring out a better product on the field. I really want Dooley to make it, but he hasn't shown me enough yet to be 100% sold.

im all for our tradition and improving the roster (we are making strides) but a player choosing an also-ran program over ours shouldnt be a shock. we have done nothing to make kids on the fence, want to come here

smh typing on a tablet with auto-correct off is very frustrating lol

Definitely upgrading talent. In a big way. Hope he succeeds this year. I want him around long term if he can win. Love his personality and his respectability and he can recruit. But he has to win. And it has to start this year.

Jay, I agree 100%. What is your opinion on the progress we've made so far?

I am not sold on the staff but the part of the staff I was least sold on is now in Washington. (thankfully)

I have no expectations after this yearscollapse.

coming into 2011 season, I had 2012 pegged as a big year.

I think Brown would have been amajor talent upgrade as well.

I'm right there with you. I don't really have any expectations. The injuries last year smacked every ounce of confidence I had down. We'll see. I'll still be there on Saturdays, like clockwork.

When Hunter when down in the beginning of the UF game, I almost cried (obviously exaggerating, but really). I looked at my buddy and said, "there goes half of our offense." When you don't have depth, injuries will kill you. I wasn't totally impressed with the work the staff did to coach-up some players, but you can give them a little breathing room considering they had to deal with roster injuries.

lack of tradition and history isnt stopping Oregon and Oklahoma State from prospering

most here are too stuck on the past

these 17 year old kids dont give a F' about what happened 20 years ago

Don't forget about Boise State and Stanford too.

I completely agree with your post. HS seniors don't care or remember anything that happened before 2000

Has he committed to anyone yet?

and he would do those here?

Short answer - yes. Dark before the dawn. Have to build the roster and improve the staff first.

IMO the only one standing in front of an SEC Championship by 2015 is Saban, because Miles will self destruct. Who knows if Saban will hang around 4 more years in Alabama? I mean it is the state of Alabama and he's not exactly a southern gentleman. Petrino may do something once every 2 or 3 years.

The east will be open to anyone over the next 4 years. After the UK game I would have told myself I was insane for thinking this, but not now. New O-line blocking scheme/coach. CJG on staff. Hunter healing. People are forgetting about Rajon Neal and a year to get him in ready. Better SEC level defense with McCullers/Sentimore/Couch on the line plus a more experienced AJ and CM.

Imo we have the pieces in place to have a "punchers chance" in the big games. Win a big games ie. Bammer or FLA and next year will be a big year recruiting. Elite athletes aren't for the most part hanging around for 4 years and the last thing they want is "we could use you in our rebuilding process". jmho

We'll beat Florida. We need to worry more about Georgia this year. Our fans want to drag Richt through the mud but he has a lot coming back next year.

I agree. UF won't be a big "surprise win" IMO, although beating them for the first time since I was in middle school would be a monumental thing. UGA or Bama would be the big "surprise win."

Anytime we beat FLA its a huge win and of course GA is big just forgot to mention them. At full strength I think we can play with anybody in the east imo we have closed the gap talent wise our guys need coaching and motivation. The one attribute that stuck out to me most with Nebraska's NC teams was not taking any team lightly it didn't matter who they were playing they brought it.

There will be a huge mental barrier in beating FLA, but if/when it occurs this year.....

CDD is stacking the deck on the defensive side of the ball if we can land an elite type offensive player to compliment what we have look out SEC:good!:.

I still think we're good here. Not buying what being sold on today's news with him.

Just eating popcorn.

I just got back from the MSU-OM game. Talked to a lot of folks about recruiting. Of course, Richie's name is coming up a ton. The new thing amongst the OM faithful is that Richie's mom really wants him at OM. Not really sure where this is coming from, but I think it is gaining traction on some OM boards. Not saying he ends up there, but it is starting to circulate. This would be horrInle.

Every player's mom wants them to stay as close to home as possible.

A real man will pick the school he wants to go to.
