'12 MS LB Richie Brown

I think we are sitting well. I am just trying to remain calm and realistic. We will be fighting til the end with those in states. I wouldn't read too much into his bro not posting. Probably, just trying to give his bro privacy. I am sure all is well.

From his own description, his brother has a pretty hectic life, and may not have 12 hours a day to post. Again, nothing to look to deeply into.

FYI...his brother has recently (within last few days) posted on other sites, tigerdroppings is one of them. Not trying to start a panic, but he told one poster on another site that he mainly posted on other sites to disprove any rumors that Richie was leaning one way or another. We probably shouldn't read too much into anything. His brother did say everyone was equal.

I love how they go out on limbs with their predictions. At times, they can be the most reserved, boring, lifeless, and vague reporters.

Well, when they're wrong they're blasted and lose credibility. All it takes is for them to be wrong a couple of times and then they're blasted as "jokes". See comments on Mike Farrell.

Thanks for the welcome! I think we have a shot. Maybe 35-40%. He is a big family guy and I think the distance might be the biggest thing to overcome, IMO. I want to see him in Orange, but I really wish him the best. If he doesn't go to UT, I hope he goes any where but OM. It is a beautiful campus with a unique atmosphere. Unfortunately, the football program, and athletics in general, are a joke. The whole culture is corrupt.

You hit the nail on the head. Ole Miss people are a different breed, especially the Greeks there. They carry over their elitist attitude in athletics which makes them look like an even bigger joke than they already are.

If we do end up losing Santos, I hope we can get this guy to fill his spot.

Hell I hope we can get this guy in addition to Santos. Especially if we switch to 3-4.

We are not losing Santos. Relax, he has built relationships with future teammates, CDD, eh loves the school, his parents love the school. Yes, there is some turmoil going on, but it is working itself out. CSS is visiting today and will put an end to all this wavering stuff. Breathe and believe.

OLB in any system. He's hella fast. Probably won't matter though. I'm calling MSU with Southern Miss as the dark horse.

They will play totally different Linebacker positions in college so he wouldnt be filling Santos' spot. Both are very important to this class.

A rebel friend forwarded me this story. It's interesting to say the least.
The link says no access for some reason. It works for me. Let me know if it doesn't work for you.

They do have one baller Greek system though. Went to Sigma Chi's Derby Days party last year. Four night straight, and then a huge field party on Saturday with more beers than I've ever seen...and the "scenery." Don't get me started, I lament graduating.

All said, the "scenery" at UT isn't bad by any means. There's a reason I'll be in law school there next year. GBO

I'd honestly rather go to Ole Miss than Miss St.

Na not working.. Summarize?

Basically, he has a good sense of where is going to go, he will announce in signing day after all of his visits, and that he really loves his state. He mentions the 3 state schools being his top choices, but UT is not out of the mix. He loved his visit.

Having lived over here for a couple of years, I can tell you there are pros and cons to both schools. Ole miss has a great social scene. However, there is a huge load of snobbery. Some people act repulsed when I say that I went to UT....it's even worse for MSU folks. MSU is laid back and has a down home feel. Overall, some of the friendliest people. However, not tons of stuff going on.

Why would they act repulsed? Ole Miss is horrible academically. It was rated last out of the now 14 SEC schools in the latest US News and World Report rankings. It isn't even ranked nationally.

So he knows where he's going and he loves his state, but Tennessee is not out of the mix?

His words from the interview.

The only thing that was a little troubling was that he says the in-state schools are more toward the top of the list. I think we still sit well.
