'12 MS LB Richie Brown

Never mind. My apologies. I try not to complain, but I get sick of seeing digs at posters with a low number of posts. I misinterpreted your comment as a complaint toward another poster. I was wrong and apologize.

Thanks and accepted.

Thanks. He is serious about his official visits. So it's up to the UT staff now (to make a good impression) ;) Then that'll be followed by a lot of prayer and contemplation. Whoever Richie and my Dad feel is the best fit for character and athletics will be the place he goes.

ARIK, I think y'alls grandfather added me on FB. Is that is sign? lol

Really excited about this. I have wanted R.Brown to be a Vol ever since I saw his film about a month ago.

Great news that he actually seems a bit open now from what everyone is saying. I know UT showed up late recruiting him, but it would be nice for him to love Knoxville/UT on his visit and commit on NSD.

Not that ratings matter necessarily, but he is rated above Santos on Rivals as an ILB. He is a 4*.

I personally like Santos a bit more. Santos looked really good in the UA-All American game outside of getting trucked by Keith Marshall on the sideline.

I never said I liked one of Santos or Brown over the other. I like them both as LB prospects. They both bring different styles and talents to the table. I want both of themn to be Vols though. I think Santos is probably a little more SEC ready ATM because of his significant weight advantage.

Yeah I could see ST. What pos in a 3-4?

Brown is an OLB to me in 4-3 or 3-4. His speed is suited for the outside. Plus he isn't used to getting off blocks from watching his highlights. He would have a bit more freedom on the outside to seal the edge or to come of the edge and get to the passer. Santos is a Mike or Strongside backer all day. I think the key man for us if we go to the 3-4 will be Maggitt though. He's a perfect Jack LB.

last question, what about Otha and Justin

He plays football and is not used to getting blocked? He may not be good at it but he's no stranger to getting blocked.

Santos easily. Brown needs to redshirt or play on STs his first year. He needs to add weight much like Justin King.

Jelani Jenkins plays inside at 236, Ogletree from UGa is bout 230-235 & also plays inside sometimes. Why do you feel he needs to gain weight? He has a nose for the ball. He's a tackling machine. He don't think he reacts. You notice this my the amount of tackles he had every Friday night. I always wondered why our staff wasn't on him. I was gonna start a thread on him in Sept. But didn't because he wasn't a recruit. He's definitely got the skills to compete for A lot of time next year. I'm sure his family will make the right decision as long as they seek God 1st.

Otha is an edge player too. Even though he played well in the middle. I like him on the edge with his speed. But he gives us a lot of versatility. I still think he's the best LB coming in and that's no disrespect to any others. King is a guy I like a lot but he'll have to redshirt. Built a lot like Dontavious Sapp but he's more athletic.

Is he truly 235??? Because he looks kinda slight for a 235lb LB.

I'm just going off his highlight tape man. He's coming through unblocked a lot like Chris Donald was on his highlight tape. I also wonder what is the competition like where he plays. Miramar how good is the area he plays in.

He is on his way. The whole family is excited about the visit. The vols have exactly the same chance as any in state school right now. He is truly completely undecided among his top 3. The vol staff has a real opportunity at swaying him if they play their cards right. A good football program and good character among players and coaches will be important. Solid student athlete programs like FCA are important. Potential early playing time would be good too. Anyone who has given any info saying one school has a better chance than the next doesn't have any idea what they are saying.

Thanks for the info and welcome aboard.

The Vol For Life program should be a real plus for him and the chaplain Roger Woods is very well respected with the players.

In terms of early playing time. Our depth is very thin and he could be of great help if he is ready to go. :hi:

He's my little brother.

Thanks for the sincere info. Welcome. :hi: Please don't take some of crap you read on here as the thought of the majority of us fans and alums. I'm sure yall understand how it is down there.

My ex grew up in Long Beach...I'll add the...."maybe thats a sign" comment here.

Please keep us updated on what your little bro thinks of our program when they check in. I know they will LOVE Knoxville, the campus, the facilities, and the ladies. Thats the least of my concern. So all the other internal stuff yall will be checking out is what I want to know more about. Thanks again.

VN has become the place where family members come to share. I knew Arian's mom came in here sometimes, but MZ Terry and now Richie's big brother pitching in is pretty cool. Nice to have that family atmosphere reach off the field.

Yeah, I understand that man. Have you ever been to Knoxville before? You'd love it.

What about you? Where do you go to school?

Welcome to the board!

first off welcome to the VN family! glad to see you taking an interest in your brothers college decision. second what do you think of our site and our fans? and lastly do you also get on his other college choices message boards? if so how do they compare as far as quality and fans? sorry to bug ya, just would like to know how a true outsider (hopefully soon to be a vol supporter) feels about us. thanks

Let your brother know there are alot of Vol fans excited about the possibility of seeing him in orange. I personally think he would be a tremendous addition to this class. Hope he has a great time, please update us on the visit if you get a chance.

ARIK... Good luck to your little brother where ever he does choose (hopefully UT). You are right, it has to fit him and where he wants to be for the next four years. Solid friends and programs will help a lot during that time. Please come back and visit. When you get the time, if you could answer ERTEL's questions it would be nice. Some of us on here never venture to other boards and would like to know what others think.

GO VOLS!!
