Brown will visit the Vols with his parents, who are making the drive with him to Knoxville. Tennessee only recently offered but has made a strong impression in a short period of time, he said.
"I can tell they're sincere in what they're saying," Brown said. "When I talk to college coaches, I really do notice everything. I can kind of tell who's serious and who's not. I can tell they're serious. They apologized. They said they were sorry they weren't on me from the get go, but they wished they were. I could tell they meant it."
Brown thinks the circumstances in Knoxville could potentially be a good one.
"They explained their situation to me," he said. "They said I'd fit well. I figured, why not take a visit and see. They said they're losing some linebackers and they don't have the best core of linebackers. They were talking like it's a good situation for early playing time. They think it's something I could handle."
How are they different? Brown is 230 right now. He could be 245 by the start of the season. They are both big and fast
That is true. Santos just has that aggressive edge and all-out style of play. Also extremely good at stopping the run. Brown to me seems faster and more well-rounded. I don't really think of myself as a talent evaluator, though. I'd be happy with either and thrilled with both.
What had you originally said?
He is on his way. The whole family is excited about the visit. The vols have exactly the same chance as any in state school right now. He is truly completely undecided among his top 3. The vol staff has a real opportunity at swaying him if they play their cards right. A good football program and good character among players and coaches will be important. Solid student athlete programs like FCA are important. Potential early playing time would be good too. Anyone who has given any info saying one school has a better chance than the next doesn't have any idea what they are saying.
It wasn't what I said. It was what I hadn't. I only complained about your complaining.
Regardless, this guy would be a good get. The way we have been cursed with injuries at linebacker at different times over the last ten years, any recruit that has the physical ability this guy appears to have would be an asset.
Your brothers highlight film is among the best. I'm looking forward to seeing him compete, no matter where he goes. Of course, UT would be my preference for him.
