'12 MS LB Richie Brown

Don't even try to compare UT vs MSU in regards to getting LBs in the NFL. Don't make me laugh.

Miss St. LBs in the NFL

Jamar Chaney starter Eagles over 90 tackles
KJ Wright starter Seahawks rookie
Chris White Bills (Richie clone white boy ) rookie
Titus Brown Browns
Mario Haggan Broncos

Add them all up and they don't equal Mayo. MSU is still a nothing blue collar school. Your best bet will be to try and be like Virginia Tech I guess. Always hanging around but never having what it takes to win a championship. Or maybe you should leave the conference. You don't add anything to it. You're not even the best Bulldogs in conference. Only teams you're better than in your state are the jucos. Go figure.....we're going to beat your ass next year when we see you chumps. Barely beat Dooley's baby team. This Vols squad of this year is going to rape your ass.

Prolly allready been mentioned plus its VERY early but Robert Ayers for the Broncos.. He played LB at Tennessee..

Common sense should tell him not to compare MSU to UT at all. But then again I don't know that common sense is all that common down there.... Just sayin'

I agree with engie that it's difficult at the moment to get an accurate read on Richie. UT has a good enough shot as any.

But I will submit this point...although UT has a very storied history with putting out NFL players....you have to START somewhere. MSU had a couple of nice runs where we put out some solid guys, no "headliners" but good all around players, most of which are still in the league.

I think we are comparing apples to oranges (no pun intended) because the 3 guys that are starting (White pre ACL injury, Chaney, and Wright) were all produced my Mullen and the current staff...

Mayo, Ayers..etc...weren't players Dooley coached or developed...

And last I checked...LB was a "blue collar" position. I know that was meant as a back-handed comment but we accept who we are, hard working, blue collar, less flash...

Is this really happening? UT, MSU, and players in the NFL are things that should never be compared. I don't care who coached them.

Ayers played Defensive End at Tennessee.

I knew he did at Denver and just couldn't remember at UT, so I looked it up on his player bio on wiki I think and it said OLB.. Thanks MH for the info.. I have terminal case of CRS.. Haaa..

No problem. He was recruited as a Linebacker out of high school but moved to Defensive End early on in his freshman year at Tennessee.

Is it just me or could Richie Brown pass for Chuck Norris's son?

Leaving for his Tennessee OV in 15 minutes

-Rivals

- Keith Niebuhr tweet.

Really excited about this. I have wanted R.Brown to be a Vol ever since I saw his film about a month ago.

Great news that he actually seems a bit open now from what everyone is saying. I know UT showed up late recruiting him, but it would be nice for him to love Knoxville/UT on his visit and commit on NSD.

Not that ratings matter necessarily, but he is rated above Santos on Rivals as an ILB. He is a 4*.

This isn't really pertinent to his recruitment, but in a interview with Rivals after getting bumped from a 3 to a 4* he said, "Some people underestimated me. I guess they thought I'm just white or something." I laughed out loud at the office and garnered a few stares.

Not sure about the upgrade thing. I see him as more of a weakside olb and Santos in the middle. IMO they would fill different rolls and would love to have both.
