Thank God somebody else sees it. This team doesn't have a lot of talent. Jac Smith hasn't done what we thought he would do. He's not getting to the QB at all. Malik Jackson is playing well but when we're starting Daniel Hood at DT that should tell you something. People think our guys are good but I don't even know if Jac Smith would be in the two deep on LSU's team.

Jaq would benefit greatly from a stud DT that needs a double team to keep him back. UT doesn't have that yet (hope Danny can be that guy though).

Smith is a soph. He's going to be a hell of a player. It is rare for SEC defensive linemen to do anything their first couple of years.

They're doubling Malik a lot. Jac has got to start getting there. Did he have a sack against Buffalo? He's got to at least dominate the garbage teams on our schedule. He's playing alright against the run though and he is competing hard in the trenches.

That's the biggest problem with this team. I have to keep in mind they are all freshmen and sophomores. The upper classmen are terrible(Z.Rogers, Simms, Teague, and some of the others). So I have to be patient but he was so disruptive in camp and late last year. So I thought he would be better this year.

He was disruptive in camp because he was going against other sophmores.

I've watched some Auburn games this year and Corey Lemonier has played well every game when it comes to getting pressure on the QB. Jac Smith has got to be better for us. They are in the same class with similar talent levels.(I maybe just frustrated too with all this nonsense today lol)

You do seem to be a bit edgy. Have some hot chocolate.

Yeah you're right. But I think you have to give most players a couple years to develop and make an impact. Players like Clowney and Lemonier are much more rare and are rated higher as a result. Just because they don't make an immediate impact as a freshman or sophomore, doesn't mean they won't as juniors or seniors.

It's a lot easier when the O-line has to worry about other players being disruptive.

Jac is always around the ball, had some really big plays vs LSU, I think he's played really well. DVR the games and re-watch.

I do and he's playing good against the run. I want him to get some sacks for us. He may just need that breakthrough game for him to get it.

When the LBs are able to fight off of blocks and make plays, he will.

Right now, he's not being asked to rush the passer at all.

the DE's are responsible for contain when they are the outside pass rusher unless there's a T-E twist.

LBs arent involved

Cant wait to see Danny O in action. the stuff I saw on video from summer camp this year has me very optimistic.

I know, but when you have guys that aren't in there 5th or 6th start, they are a little quicker to get over and help.

A blown contain on a team full of vets that knows what they're doing is an 8 to 10 yard play. A blown contain on a team full of freshmen and sophomores is a TD.

JJ made a living cleaning up all these mistakes last year and Lathers had his fair share too.

The whole team does. We suck against dual-threat QBs.

Qbs don't even have to be dual threats Jac is coming down the line so hard he's blowing contain. He's not getting upfield as pass rusher like he should. He's not big but he is fast so he shouldn't be trying to bull rush guys a lot or trying to continuously just rip through arms. He should be playing a more finesse style of game when it comes to rushing the passer with his skill set.

The team has had trouble setting the edge and containing the play. LSU tried to run it down our throats and failed. In the 2nd half they exposed us with their speed and our lack of experience containing. They bounced a lot of plays outside and picked up chunks of yards. That was difficult to watch at times.

A lot of that is on the CBs too. Watch Oklahoma, LSU, or Bama and you'll see corners coming off blocks forcing plays back to the safeties and LBs. Our corners(especially Teague) just get smashed at the point of attack game after game and play after play.
