Just a little more follow-up:
1) Don't misinterpret that O'Brien doesn't like UT. He clearly does. It's kinda like having a omm and a dad - where you like different things about each one. UT is clearly at the top of O'Brien's list and he talks VERY favorably about UT. If/When O'Brien commits to UT, he's gonna give 110% every snap...just as he would if he were at Michigan.
Don't even think for a split second that UT is not O'Brien's top pick. Every interview indicates that O'Brien is genuinely high on UT. Selecting UT is NOT!!!! settling. This is the SEC, this is Tennessee!! Every indication from around the UM part of the infoweb is that this young man would be a very proud Volunteer.
2) O'Brien can not and will not go to UT as some sort of transfer/launching pad to Michigan. Over the past 15 years, UM has only had 2 kids transfer in. Fact of the matter is that UM Admissions department has some wierd bug up their B-holes about accepting transfer credits. I don't care if it's English 101 or SuperCalculus 405...you ain't transferring into UM -- per their Admissions department. That's just the way it is. So, I say this to point out that UT is a final destination...not a launching pad.
3) O'Brien is a cream-of-the-crop DT. He just is. Nasty streak and would really push the OLine back in the QBs face. If he selects UT (I hope he does) -- then the Vols are getting a kid with enormous potential and skill.
Your opinion is that UT is his top choice. MY opinion is we are NOT. Your opinion is no more accurate than mine. I get that alot of people point to things he says that say UT is the leader. I guess that all the things that say otherwise are just easier to ignore. If the kid was so in love with our Vols he would have commited already. He would not be making calls and waiting ou UM to see if they can take him. It just does not add up. I have never once said the kid could not play at Tennessee or be a big time player.
