MSU is on him hard. They are letting him know he's a top priority. One coach came to see him lift in the morning and another came by in the afternoon. They are our biggest threat besides Bama now that they have offered.

Uhhh, you're kidding right? All the coaches, at some point, will have a hand in recruiting most of our signees.

But Thompson, Wilcox and Dooley will have the final say in who we sign at DT/DE.... not Sirmon.

Now, go play in traffic.
Peter Sirmon will have a lot to do with whether or not we get the dts I want. Whether or not they play incredibly once here will have some to do with lance and some to do with another person who you have never mentioned.

John james will bring this company the boeing contract...

No you idiot that is charles caans job.

When news reports show john james meeting with boeing it should cause fake insiders to quit copying and pasting from pay sites.

Imani Cross will be a linebacker though right?

It doesn't help us that it seems like former Michigan St head coach Bobby Williams is the one recruiting O'Brien. Williams knows that area pretty well.

I'm sure he is. They are probably sending Sirmon there since it will actually be a coach that he will be coached by, and not the reciever's coach.
I don't think that's it.

Sirmon is LB coach unless I'm mistaken.

Sab how do they assign coaches to players like this? Is it just a thing where they think the two would get along good or what

Usually the player falls in the coach's assigned area. Sometimes there are situations where a certain coach already has a relationship with a prospect or there's a connection.

Well it can't be an area situation here can it? Because, if so, would it not be Baggetts area?

I have absolutely no idea what any of this is.

I never said Cross will play LB. I said there's a rumor that he's being recruiting by some to play there. Think Vereen. He was recruited as a RB but hasn't had a single carry at UT.

You really are the worst of the worst.

Speaking of copy/paste from pay sites.... your little thread about how Sirmon was recruiting all these DTs.... where'd you get that info?

:hi:

He is, but he has also been recruiting other d-line players. I'm sure he will have some things to do with the d-line to.

Alot of times coaches are assigned regions/areas based on their knowledge of the area, their "connections" in that area as well as their proven ability to recruit the area.

Another major factor when deciding who should recruit a guy (besides position, etc) is which coach the player would get along with most or have the most in common with. It's the same as pairing a recruit who is on an OV with 1 or 2 guys with similar interests and who are, usually, from the same state or background.

The bottom line: recruiting is about relationships (unless you're talking about Auburn -- $$$) and we'll send whoever we think gives us the best chance to land a kid. If Sirmon wasn't getting positive vibes back from O'Brien we would probably put someone else on him, for example.

Bam,
I do not pay for a single website. I do know that Sirmon is a key recruiter for DTs. I know that you were dead wrong in that thread. I know that you seem to be joining the list of people who have trouble admitting when you are in error.

I think it is Sirmon's area. Like you said, Baggett will recruit Michigan and Chaney will be in OH and IN, but Sirmon has pretty much has everything north of TN and west of TX.

Visited Michigan State for the Spring game.

"Just that they really want me and they really need me, I'm at D-line and they think I fit well into their system and the way they run their defense," O'Brien said. "And Coach Dantonio keeps telling me and Godin that if gets us two to commit then he'll be done recruiting for D-line for a couple of years."

Did the visit improve the Spartans' chances with O'Brien?

"Oh, yeah, definitely," he said. "I had a great visit there yesterday. I don't really have a top list of schools or anything, but I'm definitely interested."

O'Brien also indicated Godin, who is another target high on the Spartans' list, is considered one of his best friends, and the two in-state linemen have talked about playing together in college.

"Yeah, we always joke around about it," O'Brien said. "We'd both love to. It would be a cool opportunity."

With spring football now over and stops to practices in O'Brien's rearview mirror, he's now looking towards the next part of his recruiting agenda.

"My next visit will probably be to Alabama," he said. "They just offered so I'll probably be going down there."

Michigan is no longer actively recruiting Danny. They are trying to fill this class as quickly as possible, and decided that they weren't willing to wait on Danny. The Vols are starting to look REAL good here.

How was O’Brien’s latest visit with the Spartans?

“It was great as we had great weather all day and they had a great crowd at the game.”

What impression did Danny walk away with after getting an up close look at the Spartans defense?

“They are a real hard working and intense team with a lot of leaders and young guys on defense so they will continue to be on the rise.”

Did the Spartan coaches talk about where they see him fitting in on their defense?

“They see me as an inside guy like Jerel Worthy is for them now.”
