Wants to try & make it down for the O&W game.

Looks like their will be a decent list of recruits attending this year.

Although I agree since both have been on campus multiple times. I think most of the fans are going to have to get used to recruits pulling the trigger much further into the recruiting process simply because of CDD's style of recruiting.

He is all about getting them on campus and interacting in person.

Visited MSU with his mom on Tuesday. They both seemed to enjoy the visit. He said he liked Coach Dantonio. He is currently sitting on the same offers, but Oregon and Alabama are really heating up his recruitment and could be soon to offer. His next visit will be to Wisconsin in 2 weeks.

"I'm completely open-minded still," O'Brien said of his suitors, adding that while Tennessee sticks out in his mind, the Vols aren't No. 1 and then everybody else. "I mean, I'm going to keep my options until I can see more places and see what I like the most."

Vols lead. Anything you read or are told otherwise is not true. A Vol lock? No. But we do lead right now.

He's a hunter and he loves the TN hunting/fishing scene. I don't know if losing CCS hurt us at all really. Thompson could possibly lock this kid up after the O&W game if he ends up coming.

BTW, I'm not sure if LSU could jump into the picture but Louisiana is known for hunting/fishing as well.

I would say his final 3 will be UT, Michigan and Alabama though.

For sure. I haven't kept up with recruiting this year for the first time in a decade, so I was wondering who we sit good with. Anyone close to pulling the trigger? TIA.

I really don't think good hunting or fishing is going to decide his college decision as much as he loves either, lol.

Why not?? There are a lot of things we don't know what these prospects are considering. If he's a hunter or fisher, which he probably is, then the Knoxville area is prime for him in that regard. College life and life off campus, are big reasons to pick a college for some guys, but not so much for others.

this is hilarious but i agree with eric. these kids go where they feel comfortable. if outdoor sports helps them feel comfortable in a particular place, then it could play a huge role in their decision.

Didn't Kurt Maggitt cite the hunting/fishing scene as a reason he selected UT?

Anyhow, Arnett really won't be able to persuade him with hard evidence to committ unitl Arnett himself arrives on campus. jmo

There's hunting and fishing nearly everywhere. I don't care if it's "better" somewhere else. They didn't base their decision off it - yeah he probably saw it as a "plus" afterwards.

These guys aren't likely to be out in their tree stands during the school year.. the only have a small window where they have a good amount of free time. And most of that free time is in the summer when O'Brien will likely be back in Michigan... where he can hunt and fish just as easily.
