I just can't help but think how good of a recruiter Dooley will be once he proves he is a good coach. Another good recruiting class for a not very good football season.

I can agree with this, losing coaches and all I'm pretty suprised how well Dooley has done today. We just need some Mojo going next year and win about 8 games and then we will get it Rollin and I can see the comeback of the Vols.

I know of one thing the offensive weapons we have is impressive. 2013 will be the year of the defense recruit. Go get em boys.

You know its the kids and his mothers decision to make; they are the ones who have to live with it. The vols will survive with or without Mr Otha Peters. I smell a rat in this turnaround and I think one must consider the high school coach as being in the middle of the wood-pile with rat tracks leading into it.......

I thought the fit with the vols with him made sense. I have always thought he was more than a solid player. Ole well, win some, lose some... you just have to keep going.

If he signs with Arky or anyone else other than UT, then I will not pull for him. I do not pull for the players of teams we play against. Counter productive. I pull for the players on UT and GT. Not a fan of other teams or the players on said team. Never wish injury. Just wish poor performance.

Solid post, I agree with you. I only pull for Tenn. and A&M.

Yes sir, I agree. The VOLS will move along with or without him. Obviously I think we would all rather have him onboard but that's how it goes. It's his decision and he has to live with it in the end, good or bad.

LOL@ U if you still do not understand. They are 4-12 vs the teams they have to beat for a championship... and that's before you figure that they have to beat USCe, one other team, and whoever wins the East to get a trophy. Yes. That's bad. He's yet to have a season at Ark where he didn't lose to Bama and at least one other team. If lightning strikes and he finally beats Bama then he still avgs losing one game per year to someone else in the West.

I'm not claiming UT is "close". I AM claiming that though Arkansas has been solidly 2nd tier over the past couple of seasons... they aren't that close to making the next leap. UT while down for a few years now benefits from a weakened East that is ripe for them to emerge. A 5-3 record wins the East. UT can lose to Bama and win the East. Arkansas can be no worse than 7-1... and that one loss in all likelihood cannot be to Bama.

The question is "Are they closer?"... not whether their program is in better shape right now. The answer is "no".

All I can say is wow. It is so odd to see a well reasoned and logical argument on here, not given to fits of rage and despondency. Good Job...and I totally agree.

Well-stated!

I wish our staff had the time to explain this to him. Timing really killed us on this one. A guy we needed got hoodwinked by Petrino and his staff.

They also argued that CDD was done after this season, and the economics and even a decent season have all but eliminated possibility.

It's odd to lose a player we want to Arkansas.
