"I just want to go somewhere where I can develop as a quarterback and be a first round draft pick and be a good NFL quarterback someday. It all starts by developing as a quarterback and learning from someone who can get you there. I want to love school and enjoy being there for four and five years."
Barrett Trotter will end up surprising you and he will keep Khiel Frazier on the bench all season. He's no Newton, but nobody is. Also, they have a few top ten recruiting classes to fall back on.
I still think none of this has anything to do with Pike because he will make his decision early. I also think Dooley/Chaney can snag him in the end because they have clearly made him priority number one at QB.
I thought that Gunner kid from Indiana was priority #1
The game was awesome. They were playing against Kentucky. Both teams have offered. You have to see where you fit in. It was a big win for them. They are bowl eligible. It was a real good atmosphere.
"Tennessee has a lot of tradition, and their fans are passionate about football. To be there and see the atmosphere it was pretty wild. It was a good trip, and they have a young team."
The Tennessee coaching staff has Pike as a top priority.
"I visited with everyone," he said. "I talked to coach Dooley before the game. He told me I am the guy they want. He told me to take my time and commit when I am ready. I also spoke to coach Hinshaw and coach Chaney. They said they are excited about me. They said I am the No. 1 guy on their board. It made me feel good to be wanted.
Knoxville affords going away to school, but within an easy driving distance from home where family and friends can watch gameday Saturdays.
"It's a good school," Pike said. "Their program has a lot of tradition. Their fans are
Still hear he's pretty raw as a QB, but that doesn't matter much. Bray and Worley are going to be around for a while. He'll probably redshirt.
Dooley is being true to his word. He is locking down the areas in and around the state. However, I have yet to see much progress in VA or NC.
Looking at their schedule and they might be lucky to win 6 games this year. They lost a lot of talent this year and replacing a lot of starters in the trenches.

Aubby lost 36 scholarship players. "Chest Bump" was quoted as saying, "all our good players are gone." We'll see how their Spring pans out.
I expect the Tigers to be no better than 4-4 through the first eight games of the season as many of those new starters try to get established. Keep in mind, these guys have to deal with games against the Mississippi State Bulldogs, at the Clemson Tigers, at the South Carolina Gamecocks, at the Arkansas Razorbacks, at home against the Florida Gators and at the LSU Tigers. When hosting Mississippi State or Florida may be your sixth-toughest game, that's a brutal stretch.
My hunch is that the Tiger will finish, at best, fourth in the SEC West, and I doubt they make it back into the Top 25 this year.
