He's offered a lot more evidence rather than insults... Unlike you... It is possible to disagree civilly without getting butthurt
Disagree.
Spurrier dared Tennessee to beat him in a shootout. Cutcliffe couldn't outsmart Pruett or Stoops and Chavis can't hold Spurrier's visor.
Sorry, I don't consider Option read spread offenses as pro-style. UT will always run a version of a Pro-style offense i suspect.
Vince Young failed, Michael Vick became a pocket passer, Cam is becoming a pocket passer, and Tim Tebow is trying to become a pocket passer. Junk, gimmick offenses don't work in the NFL and they don't work in the SEC unless you have a generational talent that comes around every 5-10 years. Auburn sucked offensively pre-Cam Newton, and post Cam Newton, he only played 1 year btw. The gators had a powerful offense for 2 out of 4 years with Tebow. The first year with Chris Leak the offense was terrible. UF should have lost to us in fact had Harrell been healthy and we didn't get called for a bogus call against Mapu for a late roughing the passer where he was pushed into leak about a good second after he threw the ball that erased Morely's pick 6. Secondly, that gators defense thanks to Zook's recruiting was loaded, they had 6 guys go in the first 3 rounds that year......
The year Tebow hurt his shoulder and the defense wasn't stacked UF went 9-4 and lost some pretty bad games. In the 2008 UF NC season, Tebow had 4 NFL WR's, 2 NFL TE's and again a nasty defense, one of the best secondaries and LB cores i can remember. Why do you think Meyer quit the SEC and ran away to the big 10 once tebow left? Those offenses are crap in the SEC and in the NFL and only work if you have a special type of QB that doesn't come around very often.
Running QB's and option read\spread type offenses work occasionally when playing a weak schedule. If you try to run that offense week in and week out in the SEC with your tiny WR's and RB's, your running QB, and your OL that hasn't even learned how to put their hands on the ground and block, and TE's that get free releases and never actually stay and block, well you haven't been watching very much college football i'm afraid.
Uptempo offenses are only good for pass based offenses? Incorrect.
What Malzahn did last season at Auburn had absolutely nothing to do with the style of uptempo, run heavy offense he had with Cam.
So, he's wrong.
I see you're part of that crowd that likes to attribute comments to people that they didn't say when losing an argument.. Carry on
I hope you realize that speeding up the offense and increasing the number of plays your offense intends to run goes hand in hand with a passing offense, not a running team that wants to eat up clock and play conservative but great defense.
If your not balanced in the SEC, or more run oriented, then your not going to do well traditionally in this league. If we throw it over 30 times a game, I don't think that we will be doing too well in the W/L column. Teams who have QB's throwing it about 25 times a game, are the teams that typically have the better winning percentage in the SEC.
Historically speaking you sir are correct. But I think it just comes down to taking advantage of the skill players you have. If you only pass the ball 25-30 times a game with our WR and QB you don't deserve to be a coach at UT. Now if Neal/Lane are averaging 7 yards a pop I am all for that. But I don't see that happening. Our offense should make Mike Leach look conservative.
Will CP be in this years NCAA game?
Good question.
Have you seen the info on the game they released last week? I'm pumped.
The recruiting part of it should be a lot better. You get to scout this yr. And the players ratings can change throughout the season etc. so makes it more true to life. And your schools'/coaches' ratings on the pitches can change on a week-to-week basis.
