true, but it wasn't a "pressing need" for us last season either....until J Hunter blew out his ACL on the 4th offensive play of the FL game
I think a guy like CP (if as good as advertised) is worth 1 or 2 wins - especially in tight games.
I'd say James Banks was worth 3 wins in 2003 playing receiver.
I'd like to see CP come in for the main reason of not knowing how good Hunter will be after coming off such a serious knee injury...

There is no way to be sure JHunt11 will be back to form when this season starts. I really hope he is but ACLs are a tricky thing. Even if rehab goes well and he regains all the strength he has lost, there is always the mental aspect. Worrying about making a cut or taking a hit can change his game until he regains his confidence. Having a WR with CP skill set will be a huge benefit.

I'm not concerned about his confidence too much because the injury didn't involve contact. If he had been in a big hit that popped it, I would be more worried. That said, he will have been making cuts for a while prior to season. I look for him to be out for blood.
Oh, CP will be a boss if he comes here. Trying to stay on topic.
opposite for me,,,if it had been a big hit well thats football,,BUT just jumping in the air,,that would make you realize even a simple thing like that can be dangerous.Big weight on a football players mind!
You are forgetting that there is a very good chance that Hunter will not be back to his pre-injury form until later in the season -- if at all next year.
....and Darick's status is in question also.

Dooley himself said that there is NO problem with Da'rick. C'mon.
You need a few more years of experience before all of that junk. Alot can, and will happen in these next few days. This is By no means a call out at all. Just trying to temper expectations come the first. We will lose one we have a good feeling on, and gain a longshot. It's a great cycle.I would love for us to land Patterson, but I'm just not feeling very confident that we do:ermm:..Would love to be wrong more than anything else in the world..But I do think we land Davis with no problem;in fact, I am 99.9%(sorry..couldn't resist):naughty: certain that we do..ok..I am 100% sure that we do from what I read on his thread.
