JUCO coach:

“He's a great kid and he likes to have fun. But he's got a mean streak being in the backfield. He likes to hit you and stuff like that."

Is he good enough to be a feature back though? I am still holding out hope that we can get an elite RB in this class.

His Scout profile only lists Arizona State and Oregon State as his only offers.

Also is he an EE or not? I thought we stopped looking for a JUCO running back honestly.

I guess his Scout page just hasn't updated his offers list, and appearance wise he reminds me of Javon Ringer.

Would be a nice add if we can get him, especially since we will have a Soph and FR Rbs. So a little older RB with good size would be nice.

First thoughts are quick feet and makes tacklers miss. Also sheds potential tacklers like swatting flies. Not sure about his pad level when attacking at the line of scrimmage. Seems to run upright all the time. Lots of potential.

I like the fact his JUCO coach says he likes to hit people and has a mean streak. We need that in our backfield.

Yeah, I haven't given much thought to a JUCO at tail back. I like the looks of Damien. Anyone know why he ended up in JUCO land? Did he ever enroll at Arizona State?

The Greeneville, Miss., native who now lives in San Diego, Calif., decommitted from the Sun Devils and hasn't spoken to the Pac-12 school since, opening up the door for schools across the country including Tennessee, who he'll visit the weekend of Jan. 13.

"We set this up around two or three weeks ago. They've been recruiting me for a little bit now," Williams said.

For the 6-foot-1, 215-pound running back, it was an exciting surprise when Tennessee first called a few weeks ago.

"Actually they called me out of nowhere, out of the blue and said it's Tennessee and they're looking for a running back and they liked me and it all went from there," Williams said. "Considering I had Arkansas call me and now I have two SEC schools, it was great."

Sure I'll catch it for this, but if the guy reminds Rivals of Cross, than why would we tell him to look elsewhere just to pick this guy up. That doesn't make a lot of sense to me.

I understand he will be a Jr., but age doesn't necessarily mean experience or leadership. He would still have to get used to the SEC, if he does in his first year that’s great, but it usually doesn't work that way.

So at least with Cross theoretically you had 3 to 4 years in the system, not 1 or 2.
