'12 JUCO DT Damien Jacobs (Florida signee)

What if people keep blowing up my phone and I'm trying to text or call a friend or my GF and I accidently answer one? Or if I can't text of call because of the non-stop ringing of the phone?

I would definitely answer and hang up to stop them as well. All these guys want the info so they can look like internet gurus. I would not help them at all. Didn't Croom's mom say that even one of our posters on here kept calling her and her son so he could try to relay the info first on here? That would get really old to me.

How many sources are trying to call him to break the story early? Its all about the money and the fame?

Just a different point of view.

You act like he owes anything to VQ. He didn't commit to VQ, he committed to UT.
Now if he hung up the coaches, big difference.
Its a f'n reporter who is trying to get a scoop even tho you've already said I'm signing around 12.
Let the guy spend his last few hrs before a huge life changing decision alone w/his thoughs or w/ his friends and family

No backtracking- I thought we had him

BUT- I damn sure knew he wasnt going to Tenn...at least it's between us and Fla at 11 CST- you guys arent even in his thoughts

Neither are you. Maybe your team, but not you. And judging by the rankings MSU is not in a lot of other kids thoughts either. Enjoy your one big recruit and another mediocre season.

No. The alternative, more professional way of doing things, would be to answer the phone and tell him to stop calling, for a decision would be made soon. It's simple and quite easy. It doesn't avoid the problem.

You realize you are arguing with someone who has the maturity and intellect of a six year old right? If you just wait a month, someone will make him feel dumb enough to where he will go and create a new account again.

I think Sentimore is going to do something in the next hour or so. He's been difficult to reach so I don't read much into not being able to get a hold of him. The feeling last night and early this morning was still good for Tennessee.

But we all know that anything can happen as today has proven.

Damien Jacobs is supposed to sign around noon with someone and right now that doesn't seem like it's going to be Tennessee.

Yea, but you thought he wasn't going to Tennessee because he was dating a sorostitute in Starksville.

You were wrong too.

No- I said he wasnt going to Tenn- and he isnt- soooo, I'm not wrong

andddddd he hasnt signed with Fla just yet...so I'd wait before calling me wrong

Jay, you can say that all day, and parts of it, I agree with. However, hanging up on the guy isn't a way to address or solve the issue. Period.

what rankings? We have a top 25 class going right now with these juco's signing today

Sure, Mr. Cynical. Boy, do you get the big picture of modern journalism.

Makes sense to me. You mean to tell me we are not a sensationalistic TMZ society? Lost are the days of actual news being reported. It's all glorified opinionated blogs based on a small tidbit of information.

Unless you know how it happened, this is wrong.

What I see -

Jacobs: Dude quit blowing me up, I'm signing at 11
Austin Price: B-B-B-B-B-But
*Click*

Nothing wrong with that. I'd extend the same courtesy to Price as I'd extend to telemarketers during dinner.

I agree with you that's it's not morally right. I have a pretty old soul. But it is our reality and he's just doing a job, and I can't fault him for that.

Like has been said, you could just turn the phone off if you really want to be "alone with your thoughts and family."

But the whole point of having his SECOND decision is to garner attention. That's what he's getting and what he knew he was getting into. Austin is doing his job, Damien is acting like a child. No way to bull**** around that one. When your boss says get the scoop on a prospect, you don't say, "I think he needs some time alone with his thoughts." You do what you're told.

I do understand it is his job. But for people to lambaste a kid for not answering their phone on their signing day seems a little over the top as well.

It's just rude. Why not tell him to stop calling you, and the decision will be made shortly. Nothing more needs to be said. He needs to learn to "man-up" through having an aduit conversation with someone.

Hanging up on him solves nothing. It just pi$$es someone off. If anything, turn the damn phone off if you don't want to receive phone calls. Don't hang-up on someone and say the problem is solved. That's avoiding the problem.

Maybe he did already tell folks to stop calling him, and they're ignoring his request. Keeping the phone turned off doesn't solve anything.

For 1 thing, this may be 1 of the biggest days of his life and/or that of his family, who are probably also calling him to talk or congratulate him. So, he can't just turn his phone off without missing calls from friends or family who want to wish him the best.

Pure speculation and hypocritical. Why do you still post? Do you enjoy being badgered all day?
