'12 JUCO DT Damien Jacobs (Florida signee)

So apparently, although Jacobs remains committed to Tennessee, he's not ready to make his final decision. Article on TOS if anyone cares to summarize.

Jacobs and Autry are both going to be wearing orange and starting on the DL for the Vols come September. Stop worrying so much.

Jacobs said he's still committed to Tennessee but Florida really has him thinking. He might visit Miami but isn't sure, Autrys decision has nothing to do w/ his & he will have his final decision in a couple weeks.

Don't get me wrong, I still want to sign Jacobs but IMO as long as we get Autry I could care less. ATP, it's a lot of drama.

Seems like Jacobs just tells the recruiting sites the same line over and over again: "I am committed, but keeping my options open". Yet our true insiders are saying ALL VOL. My guess is he is just telling the website folks what they want to hear to write a story. At least that is what I am hoping.

He loves attention. I definitely still want him to be a Vol, but this has happened with any school that has shown interest in him. I can understand a recruit wanting the limelight but within reason.

I understand why he is doing it. Some people like the recruiting process and the attention. I prefer prospects like OP (but of course, who doesn't). A lot less of a headache to follow.

I love how people assume recruits love attention. This is a kid trying to make an important decision, and he has many suitors. Last I checked, he is being hounded by reporters and he gives them very vague quotes. Just because your life involves following a recruit doesn't mean the recruit is the one seeking attention.

Dude, I don't remember saying anything that drastic. Quit jumping to conclusions. If you can't see he is enjoying the process you're blind. He doesn't have to answer the damn phone and put quotes out. Take Grice for example. Lots of good media print on him.

I wasn't referring to you in particular. Of course he is enjoying the process, he gets to go to several great schools. Just because he answers some recruiting analysts questions doesn't mean he is some attention whore. If you have no ties to UT, and you are still getting pushed hard by Florida (who has a great DC and proven D-line coach) then you are going to think things through. I don't see a problem with him saying his options are open. Really doesn't seem like someone wanting all the attention.

That is my assumption also because I believe he and Autry both will be Vols. I think Jacobs just wants to get some free trips to interesting places while he can. There is no way a JUCO would be that interested in Miami with almost certain NCAA sanctions coming down.
