Not trying to give you a bad time but "will be" does not equal "currently deep".

If UT had two stars then 2-5 guys legitimately ready and able to play in the SEC.... then that would be "depth".

True...but these 3 and O. Jacobs are all EE's...they'll get spring practice and off-season workouts...none of the JUCO's from last year did....but they are all 3 year guys so it evens out

I don't agree.. They will make proper adjustments.. Can keep recruiting juco if they need..everybody does it

Spot on AC. Not to mention that this squad will still be young next year - but with depth,,,sorely needed depth. The JC's fill that depth equation nicely while CDD & Company are rebuilding.

Bama buddy of mine emailed this to me this morning. Anybody know who this guy is?

Juco DE Denico Autry also visited and seems to be UM or Mississippi State. I hear Bama never truly offered him. Interesting, imo. Too many like him already or what?

everyone should want to win now - and coaches recruit the jucos b/c if you recruit full classes you will very quickly run out of room - 25x4 = 100 and 25x5 = 125 - you only have 85 spots - so if you want to keep your frosh and/or occasionally redshirt some guys you either have to have a lot of attrition, not sign full classes, or recruit some juco guys each year to help even out the #s

i think he actually has a pretty good balance this year between freshman that have time to develop and jucos that bring immediate competition at the positions

Have attrition=Recruit JUCOS. No depth= Recruit JUCOS. Half the team freshmen and sophomores=Recruit JUCOS. We've have all 3 conditions-------so we get the JUCOs.

Actually loosing to Kentucky had more to do with him trying to save his butt. I would be worried if the loud mouth fans were silent about that. It would mean that we find it acceptable to be bottom feeders in the SEC East.

Scooba (Miss.) East Mississippi Community College DE Denico Autry is on a plane on his way back to school.

His visit weekend to Miami is over.

"It went pretty good," Autry said. "Miami, they're fitting in pretty high."

Autry says the Canes have now joined Mississippi State and Alabama to form his top three. He is planning to take a final official visit next weekend to Ole Miss and then will announce a decision on Dec. 21.

Autry will be on campus somewhere in January.

Asked if has a favorite out of his top three, Autry said, "I'm going to go home and decide on that."

But he adds that he won't be making any announcements until after next weekend.

Asked if the Canes are now in good shape with him, he responded with an enthusiasitc "Oh yeah."

The highlight of his time at UM?

"Hanging out with the players," Autry said. "My host was Olivier Vernon. He's a great guy, man. We went out and ate, talked to academic people, an athletic advisor. And the coaches were real cool. Coach (Al) Golden, he was talking about how he wants me to come to Miami."
