'12 JUCO DB Otis Jacobs (A&M signee)

We'll know for sure after next season. Dooley knows it. The fans know it. The AD knows it. Everyone knows it. In the very least, we'll have more talent (assuming everyone stays) than we did two years ago.

I really hope Dooley works out. I personally dont want to have to make another coaching change, but if he cant get it done next year then we will have no choice but to look for a new direction imo. And if that's the case, I hope we go out and hire a proven winner for once.

If Dooley can recruit like this in back to back 5-7 losing seasons...just imagine what he will do when he wins 8-9 games a year!

Not to mention that we will have the best (top5 min) football facilities in the nation next year.

Add in the relationships he will have built over time, and not over just a 1 year period.

Throw in the potential of the SEC East losing Spurrier and Richt within 5 years. Muschamp looks to be a bust and could be gone soon.

Things will be fine in due time.

I think thats when JUCO signing day begins if im not mistaken. Because Damien Jacobs is supposed to be taking an OV to Texas Tech next weekend. I would think with him being an EE he would not take the visit and sign with Tennessee if the 15th is the deadline. Because Damien will be a Vol.

I probably got deadline and the beginning of the signing period mixed up.

Yeah I do too. But this is where Hart comes in at AD. I trust him to make the right hire if it is necessary.

I know Sentimore was a qualifier but were the other 3 EE juco guys we are expecting to get non qualifiers out of HS?

I have got some experience recruiting juco players(different sport) and I find it extremely odd that kids that didn't qualify out of hs are graduating in 1.5years from a juco. I am darn near certain in order for them be EEs they must graduate and I have seen darn good students out of hs not graduate in 2 full years from a juco.

DT Jacobs wasn't. I think the other two went to Juco because it was their best option at the time. I've had a few cousins play juco ball and the graduated mid term. Depends on the students.

This is just silly. Where are Spurrier and Richt going? Florida is going to fire Muschump after Year 1?

So if Jacobs(DL) is the only one that didn't qualify out of HS then the other 3 don't have to graduate just have enough hours starting next fall to be eligible. Still very odd to me that jacobs(DL) would graduate in 1.5years being a non-qualifier.

This is our next commitment, by the end of the week.

He is coming in for his OV on Wed., he hasn't talked to A&M in over a week. Said he is really sold on Tennessee. Sentimore & Otha Peters have been recruiting him to Tennessee. Will announce & sign by the end of the week. He is a EE w/ 3 to play 2.

Some guys are bad students not because they are dumb but because they don't care. I'm an average student personally but I test great. I'm an average student because I really hate school work. I tested great on IQ and Wonderlic tests but I hate homework and studying. I know I'm not the only guy out there like this.

I get that, but a juco kid has to get 60hrs and remedial classes don't count toward that 60. So best case Jacobs(DL) had to take 18hr for 3semesters and get 6summer school hours. That is assuming he didn't have any remedial classes which would be strange for a non qualifier. 18hr semesters are tough on anybody especially a kid that plays football, takes visits, and was a non qualifier.

Hell as long as he gets in I'm good. Not going to check into his hours. Lol

Lol. Me either but that sounded pretty darn tough to me. The biggest thing is that I am sure darn near every non qualifier has to take remedial classes and those don't count toward graduation. I just don't know those can make it happen without some serious internet classes.

I guess the one thing that us fans need to do is not get too excited until these kids get on the practice field. IMO there are some grade hurdles to get past and that might be easier said than done.
