12' IN QB Gunner Kiel

Hubbs said that Kiel was the one to call the Vols after de-committing from Indiana, and he came for an unofficial in November. Hubbs said it was the coaches choice to pass on Kiel and keep Peterman as Kiel still had a lot of interest in the Vols. Thought that was very interesting.

thats great, i saw him play this year against the highschool i graduated from and he is pretty good. One thing i will say is the competition he plays against in southern indiana is not that great. This doesnt mean i dont think he will be good, he could win the heisman for all i know. If he does go to lsu instead of ND i will be very surprised bc his dad and uncle were big time in their day and went to ND and Purdue while his brother is at IU.

IMO this goes to show you how high the staff is on Peterman. I really think we stole one w/ him. His Sr. film looked GREAT!!

Good to hear they feel that way about Peterman because I've seen Kiel play a lot of football and I've also seen him at Cincinnati's camp and a few combines here in Cincy and he has all the tools you want in a college QB. One of the few elite QB talents I've seen from this general region.

Peterman is good. Really good.

It would have completely risky to go after Gunner and then run the risk of alienating Peterman. And with Gunner, you can't be sure what he's going to do. And we weren't taking two quarterbacks.

Staff made the right decision here.

Agreed.

I already really liked the Peterman pick up to begin with, but after I watched his senior film I wouldn't trade Peterman for any other QB in this class.

I agree. He fits fits the profile of what I am looking for to a "T". As I studied his film it restored some of my faith in the coaching staff's ability to recruit quality talent.

Any chance Peterman gets bumbed up rating wise after a great showing at the all-star game? I know it doesn't matter because he is beast anyway.

I'm high on Peterman, and I'm glad we took him over Keil, but I still think Keil is superb, and I'd love to see him stay OUT of the SEC...never thought I'd say this about the most overrated, overhyped team ever, but...Go Irish!

wow.... that hope that was a difficult to type as it is to read....ha ha ha :hi:

SIAP

John Brice has been at the Offense-Defense bowl in Dallas this week, and said Petermen has been very impressive so far. Had this to say:

"I was at the East squad practice this morning and while Peterman is sharing time at QB with Mauty Mauk, Peterman had the highlight of the session with about a 40-45-yard touchdown strike on what he told me was a double-post near the end of drills.

Croom is huge and Bullock boomed some kicks.

The O-D Bowl director of player personnel, Josh Buchanan, is a really solid guy I got to spend some time chatting with this morning at practice. He's really impressed with Peterman's mechanics and raved about Otha Peters' size and physicality, saying he believes he's one of the most underrated players at any position in this year's class."

I'm sorry, but he looks like Jimmy Clausen to me. I just cannot get serious about anybody that looks like him.

Rivals has him as a 4* now. A guy from 247 was on sportsanimal this morning and seemed to say that Peterman was very underrated, but they have him way down the QB list on their site.

At least it's not Vandy...could you imagine how unbearable Clay Travis and Jimmy Hyams would be after that

#1 QB in Florida > #1 QB in Indiana

And that's not sour grapes either. I would be willing to bet money on Peterman turning out to be a better SEC quarterback than Kiel.
