12' IN QB Gunner Kiel

I understand that Vandy might be perceived as having momentum, however, recruits can see stark differences btw programs like UT and Vandy. Our facilities are top 5, no arguing that, and after this new addition will likely be top 3. Unless Vandy is willing to drop 300 million on a football facility like UT's, I don't see how they are attractive. How do you sell a recruit on having to bust his ass in the classroom as well? Let's be frank and honest here, Vandy is a better school academically then UT's. It definitely is harder in regards to class expectations, tests and material. However, most football recruits, don't look at the education as much as advertised. I believe it is part of their recruitment but not all of it. The point being is that some of the talent that Vandy will have to bring in to really change that program, can not handle the academic requirement. Simply put, Gunner may be an exception and succeed in class, however I personally wouldn't want to worry about all the work I have to put in my classes on top of learning a playbook. The easier the transition the better. This is why I can't see Vandy ever being a team that wins the SEC East. They can't get the Rainey, Demps, D. Rogers of the South that are playmakers, and basically don't go to class.

Vandy is using the next "Stanford" with Keil. Trying to use the comparison that Stanford began their climb with Luck. Had some nice visitors this weekend.Wes Brown RB from MD and WV commit Al Reid from D.C. were also there. Don't be shocked here. If he goes to Vandy their fan base will all die of a massive stroke.

Vandy did just drop actually 375 million on everything possible related to football to put it in the top of the SEC facilites. Also every school, even Harvard, has its easy classes. The hard part is getting in, staying in with all those academic advisors is relatively easy.

But I thought Rodgers was the second-coming of Aaron. I guess that means they wouldn't know who to root for.

Vandy isn't necessarily incredibly hard either. What makes Vandy so great academically is the average class size. You get more personal attention when your English class has 30 people vs. 300 at UT.

um you dont even have an indoor facility. so no your wrong. second, tell kimbrow about vandy. i guarantee he will transfer or be on probation in his short visit there.

it's a "multi-purpose" facility

The multi-purpose facility will benefit football players and other Vanderbilt athletes such as Vanderbilt’s Southeastern Conference champion women’s cross country team, Williams said.

they should put in a bowling alley for the real champs

Vandy will be the same ole Vandy. I dont get the hype around Franklin. Bobby Johnson done the same thing in 08 and Vandy put out a video and they were gonna rise to the top blah, blah, blah. Then Vandy proceeded to win two games per year the next two years. Let Franklin put together a few winning seasons before building the Franklin statue.

Yeah I agree with you. Vandy certainly has more going on than Kentucky (and Tennessee this year), but Vandy has a bulk of history to contend with - history that is averse to winning consistently.

I needed a good laugh today.

Vandy has top facilities in the SEC? Wow? Seems like last time I was by West End they still had that rinky-dink high school football stadium (smallest in the conference), that they can not even fill up except once every two years when it becomes UT's Nashville home. Your 'indoor' practice facility will be a couple of trailers bolted together with astro turf rug on the floor. You gym is a joke. Vandy sucks in every way possible. Oh wait, I forgot about your top notch bowling team.

Sigh. Stupid post is stupid.

You want facts?
Zac Stacy- will be 1st team all SEC
Casey Hayward - will be 1st team all SEC
Chris Marve - will be 1st-2nd team all SEC
Trey Wilson - 2nd team all SEC
Wesley Johnson - 1st/2nd team all SEC

Other playmakers I dont know how they will be ranked:
Jordan Matthews
Jordan Rodgers
Sean Richardson
Chris Boyd
Rob Lohr
Tim Fugger

I dont know if you were making a joke or not but if not, here is my sincere response to it.
:eek:lol:
2011 Associated Press All-SEC football team - Sports Breaking News - MiamiHerald.com

Stacey - 1st team ... Nope
Hayward - 1st team ... Nope
Tre Wilson - 2nd team ... Nope
Wesley Johnson - 1st/2nd team .... Nope

Appreciate the "facts."

memorial gym is not bad and it has a great atmosphere...they also have a nice baseball stadium. obviously they have invested a little in the sports they aren't terrible at.

the gym with the benches on the endlines is not bad?

your getting new turf and lights how does that equate to 375 million?

Along with that an indoor practice facility. New weight room, coaching rooms, film rooms, completely redoing the concourse complete with new vending stuff and bathrooms(basically redoing the entire ****ty stuff in the concourse). I think they are making all the seats have backs. New suites(more of them) and new press box. Higher salaries for Franklin and assistants and bigger recruiting budget. New lockerooms. This stuff takes alot of money. New training facility. I told yall it was like everything.
