12' IN QB Gunner Kiel

Are you sure this guy this guy was tall and lanky and had a blue baseball cap with a white horse shoe on the front?

True!

And Gahlee, I understand.

Hard to believe anything like this in recruiting forums, if true, great. If I were a betting man I would put my money on it not being true.

Hasn't he visited UT on a couple of occasions? If so, why was he blown away with the campus and everything else the guy listed? Nothing has changed in Knoxville since his last visit.

Just to get off the rumor for a moment, does it bother anybody that Kiel sucked so bad at elite 11? My feeling is this, if they think Peterman is better or has the potential to be better than Kiel they should stick to their guns. No pun intended. I am no evaluator, it is just a thought I have had. I don't think they should drop Peterman just because the services have Kiel ranked higher at this point. I will respect the opinions of guys who are better than I at eval.

Not choosing a side untill someone confirms something with fact about where he was. But, as far as seeing the facilities, when he came on unofficial visits, there may not have been time or someone available to show him around. I know one time he visited was on a game day and most attention was probably focused on those on official visits

I thought the exact same thing. He may have just been off or had a bad few days, but to have been the number 1 QB and struggle like that would be concerning. But we have Peterman, who has had great camps and showed out at ours so Im siked about him as our potential future QB. Like myself and a few others have said, Petermans video looked much more impressive than Worleys,Peterman will be higher ranked and hes not considered a system QB like Worley has been tabbed. I personally think Worley could be a good QB after working with Chaney and Hinshaw, but also think Peterman could just just as well and even better. He has the stronger arm of the 2 and neither will have to be rushed into starting or playing, unless Bray and Simms go down this year.

Yeah some poster with like a million posts was there and said it was Voytik, not Kiel, and there was Absolutely No sarcasm in his post. imo

I was thinking the same thing. not a lot of real talk going on about the guy since the "story" broke.

Please post multiple articles to back up your point. The day to day articles i read had him and Winston as the most consistant over the entire camp.

He was not picked as one of the top 11 there. Obviously he was NOT one of the most consistant...unless he was consistantly subpar.

I'm surprised no one has debunked or confirmed this yet.

Is the silence telling that it was true? Or are we being overly hopeful?

Also, one thing that occurred to me today, if Kiel is basing his opinion simply on Peterman's Rivals ranking or some such, he may not consider him a threat.

Surely he wouldn't do that, but just tossing it out there.

I think those waiting for this story to be proven true or untrue will be waiting a while. It is going to be hard to prove that Gunner was sitting at home watching cartoons and snacking on some pizza rolls. Everyone is waiting to hear he was at some other school on a visit or was at some prime event. Maybe he was just at home. Odd huh?

Some enterprising soul should call in to Josh Ward's radio show.

He has a radio show, right?

He wouldn't have eliminated OU if this was the case. Not going to lie, kinda bothered me that Gunner eliminated them after the #25 QB prospect commited to the Sooners. I think he has a real issue with competition.

Day 1's top Arms
1. Gunner Kiel - Uncommitted
Though he’s been one of the top quarterbacks this week, Kiel hasn’t necessarily been head and shoulders above the rest of the competition. On Wednesday, when all the variables were thrown together, Kiel showed why he is the top quarterback in the nation. He went 7 of 8 on the afternoon and his only incompletion came on a drop. Every throw was on the money and with heat behind it. Even his cadence was NFL caliber, showing command at the line of scrimmage and almost drawing his own players off sides on his hard counts.

ShareMalibu, Calif. – Following five grueling rigorous days of work on the campus of Pepperdine that included film study, playbook installation and countless drills and 7on7s, the prestigious Elite 11 came to a close.

3. Gunner Kiel – Uncommitted

When he was on, nobody was making the throws that Kiel was making. He had some of the best 7on7 series of the entire week and showed that there isn’t a throw on the field that he can’t make. Kiel is big, strong-armed and carries himself as if he expects to be the best player on the field every time he comes out. His five-star status is safe.

The counselors’ take

The counselors at the Elite 11 camp aren’t your average camp counselors. They consisted of Oklahoma State’s Brandon Weeden, San Diego State’s Ryan Lindley, Michigan State’s Kirk Cousins, Boise State’s Kellen Moore and Florida State’s E.J. Manuel. That group got together and named their own top five performers from the week as well as a list of superlatives.

The counselor top five: 1.) Tanner Mangum, 2.) Jameis Winston, 3.) Neal Burcham, 4.) Gunner Kiel, 5.) Patton Robinette.

Now i know every site has their village idiots, but does anyone actually have a negative article on him if so i would love to read it so i can get a diverse view. TIA!
