Yes it is. Which is great news. Getting Diamond here for a visit is huge after missing out on Humphries.

With our class the way it is U of M will be very selective about who else it adds, but make no mistake this kid would be one to take. I've always read he's ours to lose but who knows with 17-18 year old kids.

Good points but 2 things to add

1. U Michigan and UT are about equal in overall history and program power ... except for the one time we played them the game was very far from equal

2001 Citrus Bowl Tennessee 45 Michigan 17

the game wasn't even as close as the sco
re

2. about the PPV issue....All UT games not on "national TV" are on ESPN 360. Invest in projector to hook up to you computer for 100" VOL action on your den wall

While our recent history is mirrored almost; two long time coaches forced out, then a failed 'experiment', then a safe but not as known hire, plus our NC's being back to back. My Michigan Arrogance must point out that our over all history is a bit farther apart:
1. Michigan: 877-304-38
2. Texas: 845-321-34
3. Notre Dame: 837-291-42
4. Nebraska: 827-341-41
5. Ohio State: 819-308-53
6. Alabama: 813-316-43
7. Penn State 812-351-43
8. Oklahoma: 796-305-53
9. Tennessee: 783-333-55
10. USC: 774-307-54
And yes, you did beat the hell out of us in 01, but I should point out that you should of been playing for the NC had you not messed up the SEC title game. I will take a little comfort in NCAA tourny game though

If only we could play teams as tough as...oh, say, Appalachian St., then our record would be that much better. But we play in the SEC. Enough said.

Hoke is doing a surprisingly good job at recruiting. Kudos to him. He might succeed in bringing Michigan back to relevancy. But what's with comparing records? Here in the SEC we play real football. We boast the last 5 NCs. We are constantly referred to as the most powerful football conference. While Michigan fans dream of a return to the Rose Bowl, Vols dream of a return to the NC game. Even down as we are, I feel confident we could compete in the Big Ten. I can't say the same for Michigan in the SEC.

FWIW, we were also the POWER conference long before the talking heads would admit that we were.

I hate Auburn, but I do have to throw their 2004 team in as exhibit A. Sure it wouldn't take long to come up with a few more examples before that.

Switch the conferences, switch the win totals. You've done nothing when you've racked up a half dozen wins a year against the Big 10 bottom feeders.
