Scout.com: Dan Voltz Profile

"Tennessee was a good visit," he said. "It was first school down south that I had been to. It was very similar to the Big Ten schools, but from what I've heard, it's a completely different style of play. Everything was top notch. They've gotten a lot of donations from people like Peyton Manning. The locker rooms are all NFL level. It was one of the coolest visits that I've been to."

"I called the coaches down there (Tennessee). I've been in contract with them for a month and they asked me to come down for a visit."

Voltz came down for a visit last week.

He does not hold a Vol offer yet but does hold offers from Wisconsin, Illinois, and Northwestern.

"I'm still getting a ton of mail from schools. I would say that I'm getting the most mail these days from Iowa, Notre Dame, Alabama, LSU and Penn State. I'm getting a lot of hand written mail from all of the schools and they all want me to make unofficial visits this fall."

Voltz is still planning to get out and see more schools this fall.

"I'm looking at going to Illinois in a few weeks for a game. I'm also looking at checking out the Purdue at Northwestern game and the Ohio State at Wisconsin game."

Also, Voltz took a UOV to Northwestern for their game against CMU.

Barrington HS - I would think his leaders will be Northwestern, Wisconsin, and Iowa. All recruit the northwest suburbs of Chicago very well.

Visited Wisconsin for the Ohio State game

Though he grew up a Wildcats fan and expects Northwestern to stay in the hunt through the entire recruiting process, Voltz says his interest in the Badgers is also pretty high.

"They're (Northwestern) obviously going to be towards the top of my list," Voltz said. "I don't really have a favorite right now, though. Wisconsin is just as much in the running as Northwestern is."

"That was the first Wisconsin game I've ever been to and I was just completely blown away by the atmosphere," Voltz said. "The whole stadium was just crazy, especially the student section. It was really a great atmosphere and exciting to watch and I'm sure to play in, too."

"Anywhere from January to March," Voltz said. "That's when I'm hoping to be able to commit. I really think that I'll be able to. I don't want to drag it out any longer than I have to."

"I don't have any visits lined up yet," Voltz said. "But there are probably a few I'll make. I'll probably go to Wisconsin a couple more times. I'll probably see Northwestern again and maybe a few more."

This kid is an absolute mammoth. Second year in a row where offensive and defensive line talent is going to run EXTREMELY deep in Illinois. I know and respect Dooley's emphasis on the 5 hour bubble, but I wish he would send Hiestand into Illinois more actively considering the amount of respect he has up here. This state just pumps out lineman.
