I sure hope he gets some significant playing time this fall, and not due to injuries to others. A 4-Wide set with Hunter, D. Rodgers, C. Patterson and the Croomster would make me keep a bottle of Maalox handy, if I were an opposing DC. :)

I can just imagine the play by play commentators gushing over the overwhelming amount of size at the WR position. The average DB is about 5'10."

Size DOES matter! Look at Britanny Griner (Baylor Women's BB Center). Sheer size allowed her to dominate opponents, even with persistent double-teams. Can't tell me Hinshaw and Chaney aren't licking their chops, waiting to throw jump balls to guys like Jason and Justin.

Where is the best place to park for the UT/NCSU game?

at your hotel and catch the train. If you drive downtown... u r screwed!!!!!! you will be there for 5 hours after the game is over. lol I'm laughing, but I'm really not joking.

Where are you staying? Ask the hotel if they have a shuttle to MARTA.....

I think we are staying at a Hampton Inn. Google maps has a nice public transit feature and it mapped out a route for me. Thank you and everyone else that answered.

I understand that J.Croom isn't a TE but I think with his size and speed we could create mismatches if we had a hybrid package for him(Coby Fleener Style).. I can just see him streaking down towards the checkerboards now

There is a Hampton on downtown but that's not an area you want to get out and walk aroundespecially if you're a tourist.lol

Honestly everybody my suggestion would be to stay anywhere off of 400 which would be, sandy spring, dunwoody , alpharetta or norcross......pretty much all of those suburbs gives u direct access to Marta from the north springs station or Doraville station.

there's safe parking and you're in the better neighborhoods, and less time to get back to your perspective hotelsby riding the train

Yeah, probably not the best choice of words, methinks. :)

Although I think Croom is a WR the whole way I can see where u r coming from, even looking past your poor choice of words lol. With the premium that is being placed on the TE position by the NFL nowadays I think it would be wise for Jason to consider all of his options in that regard.

But even tho he has the frame to be a TE if he wanted to, watching him play WR, it's obvious that's where he needs to stay. He just brings too much to the table as a WR (obviously his size, but he also runs well, and has good hands and jumping ability) to move him to TE where he may get 3-4 targets a game.

And it's not as easy as just putting on 30 pounds and moving positions. Blocking schemes are something I doubt he has ever had to deal with. And even though a lot of TEs aren't used to block as much now it's still a huge adjustment.

Like I said tho, I can see where u r coming from bc I had the same thought, but go back and watch his Sr highlight film again and I think it will change your mind.

I stayed at the Hampton for the SEC championship, it was fine! Get down to Buckhead for pregame and the after party.

Jason Croom really reminds me of Mike Williams out of USC. The difference being that J. Croom seems to have a good work ethic and he is already a bit faster than MW. MW had a pretty impressive college career, I can see J. Croom putting up some monster numbers in his sophomore year.

Jason is a hell of blocker. He like seeing people in pain and stepping over them, but that was high school. lol
You are cussin' at him talking TE... just so u know. lol

We used to live in Dunwoody. Thats a great place to stay if you need a place to stay when you go down for the game (of course thats not you momma Croom), plenty of shopping and good eats. Plus, there is free parking for the MARTA station next to Perimeter Mall as long as you dont stay over night if I remember correctly. I took that train a ton of times and never had any problems.

I don't think he should move to TE because he is truly a WR, but a few plays that create mismatches in middle of the field should be an option. JC's blocking ability is needed at WR anyways. Thats what the WR's worked on during spring to help the run game. With the WR depth it might be Crooms best option make an early impact.

I thought about this for a little bit today, and I just feel like bulking him up to be enough of a TE to help in the blocking category would ruin his career.

I would rather the guy stay as a WR and end up as a UT great than to ruin him as a TE because we have a depth issue.

I suppose that may hurt the team, but I honestly believe that Rivera and Downs will be really good for us this year.

We all know Rivera can do it, and Downs looked pretty darn good in the Orange and White game. JMO, but that's what I think.
