I volunteer most of my free time with other folks kids. I'd rather do that and keep them constructively busy; rather than to have them on the wrong path to life.

Gotta luv the kids!! One daywhen i'm old, I'll need help and they'll all want to help me remembering all the sacrifices I made for them when 90% of their parents weren't there.

it only take 5 minutes to affect someone's life forever. I pray I've made the best 5 mintues special for many of the kids I've mentored.

post of the year...you go MZTERRY!

This perspective has helped me to see that there is no way to happiness. Happiness is the way.

So, treasure every moment that you have. And treasure it more because you shared it with someone special, special enough to spend your time ... and remember that time waits for no one ...go Vols!!

Agreed. I think most everyone really respects your dedication to your son and the Vols.

Hope the day gets better.

I appreciate that. I read that I'm "BATCRAZY" and "MISHANDLED" Jason's recruitment for talking on the boards and not revealing who I was in the beginning.

If people only knew how many of the parents that are on here you'd be shocked. I just don't care that you know.:eek:hmy:

MZTERRY, did it cost us any recruits this past year? I am referring to other recruits' parents being on here...due to some of the negativity from our fanbase.

Not a problem. People get on here and spout off anything sometimes, but for me personally, your posts were uplifting, especially when we all thought the class was on the verge of Armageddon. Haha.

Pretty sure it was Peters. Oh well. You take a dump on a team the night before signing day...you funk over the team AND the fanbase. These kids don't realize how tangible the loss is. You hold the spot as reserved and back off other highly regarded kids because he claims to be "Solid." Bailing on your commitment that late makes it impossible to find someone to fill that void, in time....and Peters knew it. It's almost like he had some malice in mind. I'm not mad at all that he chose to commit elsewhere. I'm mad at the timing, as it literally does do damage to this program.

With all of that said, I don't give a rat's behind what his folks think after a stunt like that.

Thanks. I thought that it cost us one...and I am sure, as everyone else is, that it was the one that flipped on us last minute. I remember you trying to tell everyone to stop being negative and bashing the recruit...that many people (coaches and current players) were working on him and his mom. I am guessing that by his mom reading so many negative comments and bashing of her son, she decided it may be best for him to go somewhere else. I think it was wrong the way things went down, and how the coaches got put in a very tough spot 24 hours before NSD, since we had backed off other top LB recruits. I wish the stupid NegaVols on hear would read what you are saying and refrain from making their stupid comments when things don't go our way. I am guessing he was going to flip back and sign with us, until momma and family saw how our fans were acting and didn't want him to be a part of that.

If you let the opinons of random strangers, who in some case are trolling, influence whether or not you come to certain university.. you are going about it the wrong way.

Your tune would change if it were your child being blasted. Think about it.

I agree 110%, and that is the exact reason why I didn't want people to know who I was in the beginning.

Most recent example is Shaq. As soon as he committed some of the fans here immediatey started saying they weren't impressed with him.

Well I know Shaq, and he is a HELL of a player; good kid who will put in overtime for whomever he's playing with. Cyber scouts can be damaging.

I don't necessarily disagree with you in this case, but I do believe you have a right to choose where you want to be.

That being said; it wasn't Peters. Sorry

That was a HUGE!!!! possibility during that time, but again... the one we lost wasn't Peters because of negativity. By the time Vols started in on Peters they were in the in-between stages trying to work things out; and it just didn't happen in our favor that time. The other one was :the_finger: to UT

Huh? Really? Then that leaves Santos, unless I am forgetting someone.

I agree with that statement 100%.. but if that is the sole reason that you decide against a university, it is the wrong reason. You shouldn't let strangers on public forums influence your life especially when they are completely full of sh*t.

People troll, people are idiots, people are jealous, people are haters.. and so on and so on.

I'd say a parent or student athlete would consider it one of the factors, thus tipping the scale. That's all it takes.

That is life though, I know that is all it takes but you are going to have people who have it out for you all your life.. If you let some redneck from Bucksnort say "you suck" at being a moderator on Volnation.. are you going to move on to moding at tiger droppings?

I am totally against bashing or saying negative things about high school kids.. you won't find me saying anything negative about a recruit as far as talent goes.. or anything for that matter, it is wrong to put down kids.. those that do it on here should re-evaluate their life.

I would just hope that kids would not let public opinion keep them from going to place where they are happy.

Well I can humbly see both sides. I agree with Dooley though when he said that the parents that are actively involved the negativity doesn't affect the recruit and that is what he had experienced.

Would I want to defend my son?
Yes
WOuld I think it was more a position in christ issue that anything?
Yes, but others don't have the same belief system as me necessarily.

I think MZTERRY's presence in the thread also made posters refrain from posting negative opinions of Jason.

But hey we can scream shout and moan but it is just simple really:
People are sinful and they are going to post negative things.
Especially, fans from big programs with big expectations.

My best man is an Alabama fan. We give each other a hard time, but I would do anything for him. What is funny is he was telling me Alabama fans made awful negative comments about Mark Ingram when analizing their recruiting class before he ever step on campus. He was like a 3star i think don't hold me to it.

So, this should put into perspective what fans actually know.

I think as a parent you have to realize that you have your own life and while you love your child you can't live through them. That will somewhat shield you from being influenced by the negativity.

The only other way to stop the negativity would be to shut down this website. But Da Freak and staff need to provide for their families. They gotta eat too!!

I said it before and I will say it again.

I can't wait to hear 100,000+ yell CROOOOOOOOMMMMMMMM!!
