- Scout"Coach [Lance] Thompson came to my school and he told Coach Barron (Heard County Head Football Coach) that I have an offer from Tennessee," said Jaquay Williams.
"I ended up getting to talk to Coach Thompson on the phone and he told me that he watched my highlight tape and that he liked my speed and body control. He talked to me about Tennessee, how he wants to get me up to Tennessee for a visit, and all that. It was cool to get the offer and I am excited about it."
-Rivals.He plans to visit Tennessee on March 26, then check out Ohio State the following week.
UF and USC offered today.
-Rivals."I know the reason why [Florida hasn't offered]," Williams said. "I'm going to be a late qualifier. I take my ACT on the ninth of April. They say they're just waiting for my test score. They told me my offer will be based on my test score. Them and Georgia are the same thing."
funny because the offer was reported by Chris Nee on twitter according to Williams...must be a verbal atp.
- ScoutQuick Hitter: The wide receiver is far from polished and his best football is ahead of him, but he still was very impressive on Saturday. This was not an easy call because quite a few were under consideration, but at the end of the day, he had the votes. He showed great body control, good separation ability, and he knows how to use his size to his advantage.
- ScoutWilliams has everything you look for in a wide receiver. He has the body, he has the speed, he has the body control, he has the athleticism, and he has the big play ability. If there is one area he can improve on, it is catching the ball with the a little more consistency. He tends to let the ball get into his body and he needs to work on that. Overall on Saturday though, he was very impressive. He had a 40 time in the low 4.5s and he wasn't slowed down in one on ones unless he was interfered with. Williams was named Top Overall Performer by the group of coaches in the end
