'12 GA WR Charlie Hegedus

Pack Pride breaks down seven offensive standouts from NC State's four one-day football camps. Marietta (GA) Lassiter wide receiver Charlie Hegedus headlines the list, as the rising senior landed an offer from the Wolfpack with a big-time camp performance.

He's not holding his breath at this point with Crooms looking to commit. Croom and he are friends and Croom won't tell him where he's going but it looks like Tennessee. With Bowles thought of a good bet and leading for Patterson and only taking three receivers he may be on the outside looking in.

Hate it for the guy. I'm sure he could be successful somewhere else if it came down to it.

Yeah and he's not opposed to waiting til the Fall to see who offers. He should have a good year this year with Printz a year older as well as the offensive line. He wants to play in the SEC.

I'd rather take four wide receivers and include Hegedus than take four backs.

I don't see four backs on the board that that I'd take that are interested in Tennessee. I would like Mathers though.

I agree. We could take 4 wrs and 3 rbs. WR is much more of a need.

But isn't it nice to be in this good of shape where we have to say no to other good WR's.

There is a lot of time before signing day for Patterson, Crooms, or Bowles to flunk, get arrested, bribed or taken to the hospital.

We don't need any of those Tonya Harding shenanigans going on around here. Keep it clean.

LOL....well, was thinking more about a linebacker teaching a receiver what it means to do a crossing pattern. Can you say "Hospital Pass" I think if I poll the board on which one to take out, I might be in a bit of trouble, but at least it wouldn't be an NCAA violation.

Senior wide receiver Charlie Hegedus (6-2, 185 pounds) Lassiter High School, Marietta GA
As soon as Hegedus ripped off a 4.44-second 40-yard dash during testing, he had landed squarely in the Wolfpack cross hairs for the rest of the day. He then showed very good fundamentals during drills and impressive hands during one on ones. Hegedus is a precise route runner and his size tends to give him a physical advantage against smaller defensive backs.

The Pack had hoped for a commitment when Hegedus visited last weekend but it was not to be. He is one of the top prospects still remaining on State’s receiver board. Hegedus comes from the heart of SEC country so any offer from one of that conference’s schools could be a tough obstacle.

What's nice about saying no to a WR that doesn't even have an offer? He's been at a lot of camps and has yet to receive an SEC offer...

If we miss out on 1 or more of our top 3 WR targets, is he next on our board? doubt it.

If we close with Patterson, Bowles and Croom I will be a happy man. The three of them fit well with what we already at WR and would give us one of the top WR units in the nation.
