Haven't seen this kid discussed in forever, so just wanted to say I am excited about him. Dunno if he is a redshirt candidate or what, but he's got something you can't teach.

If we have the depth, I think a RS is possible. Seems like he would be one that we get very excited everytime he comes into the game.

Figured it would be Devrin and Alton, but I wouldn't rule this kid out either

No inside info, not saying it would happen or think it should happen. But. Do you think there is any way Watson gets told to look around if UT's class numbers get tight? Especially if UT lands Bourque this weekend?

I have no idea if it would happen, but I was just wondering what everyone else thought. It is definitely possible. Coach Dooley has shown that he isn't afraid to let recruits go (especially GA recruits). If Bourque commits UT would have Bourque and Hill. UT has offered a ton of 2013 class RBs such as Green, Thornton, Harvey, etc.

Same HS as CDD. I don't think he'd want to break those ties. Also, I think Watson will be in a role similar to DY, not RB.

We took him pretty late in the process, though. Then again, I thought Imani wouldn't part ways with UT and he did.

IMO, you make room for a couple players like this. Elite speed and quickness and if they develop right you have a sparkplug in the open field.

Just watched this kid's highlights and I'm very impressed. He has the one thing this team needs, SPEED. He looks just like Chris Johnson. We got a steal here.

I don't think so. I think we lose a few and gain a few before NSD. Always happens.

Yep the 75th rated player in the state of Georgia looks just like Chris Johnson. This guy would never have got an offer if he wasn't from CDD's old HS. Besides us he only had one other offer and that was Indiana. Maybe he will be a diamond in the rough but I wouldn't hold my breath. It takes more then speed to play football at this level.

Yeah I knew that but I don't think the poster did. He didn't say Watson looks just like Chris Johnson did in HS. The comparison is ridiculous either way though. Very rarely is there a recruiting ranking miss as bad as Chris Johnson was anymore. Part of CJ's problem was he started playing football late in HS and then broke his leg his senior year. I would bet 20 to 1 that Quenshaun Watson will not be in the NFL in five years. I hope I'm wrong but I stand by the fact that he got the offer because he played Clarke Central.

I'm sure he was just talking about their similarities in play.

Watson very much reminds me of CJ2K. In build, speed and running style. Watch his tape and he makes the same kind of lightning quick jump cuts and hits top gear in about 2 seconds. You can see a little bit of it at the 1:20 mark here:

CJ didn't really make his mark in the spotlight until his first season with the Titans. Even when he was drafted, many pundits talked just like you guys are right now. He's just a smallish scatback who will be a "change of pace" back.

Fisher was enamored with CJ's speed, therefore Watson will likely tempt the staff to get him involved in the offense in some capacity as he has a similar "Home Run" capability that CJ has. Perhaps even more so than Pig Howard. I think he is the sleeper of this class. Croom is right behind him.
