I wouldn't recruit a lineman if he wasn't a mean SOB. Tough teams win more often than not. It all starts with some mean grimey big uglies up front on both sides of the ball.

Need some road graders on line that will plow a path to the end zone.

Are you sure that we "Throwed" around bama and Lsu dline? We must not have watched the same games. We may have had a handful of plays that we showed what we could do, but the score board told a different story.

And bama and lsu dont run the same 5 or 6 plays. Their play calling is by far more advanced than what we run. They call running plays out of 10 to 12 different sets. If they ran the same 5 or 6 plays, then dont you think that Wilcox would have adjusted and put 7-8 in the box if he knew what was coming? Those teams play calling is why they beat the snot out of us. Kept us on our toes.

Teams that watch our tapes, they have a good idea of what we are going to run, when we run the ball.

Back to your regularly scheduled programming. I like this kid, watson. Hope he does well.

I didn't say, or mean that we dominated the Bama or LSU lines at all. Then again the boys looked a lot better against them physically, and held their own a lot more, than they did Montana. Bama and LSU run the same plays over and over. I know they have more sets, but their bread and butter plays, are mostly the same. They are also veteran offenses that can adjust. Wilcox did force them to adjust. It was talked about a lot on VN that JC had to scale back the playbook, because of them trying to learn too much, too fast. The bottom line is, run blocking fudamentals suffered at the expense of pass-pro imo. Pass-pro was improved a ton. A lot of VN dismisses that because they are mad, and want somebodys, hell anybodys, head on a plate. I agree with Skeeter that with another years S&C and renewed commitment in the offseason to running the ball, there will be a ton of improvement. P.s. Also getting some battering rams like Cross and Hill will help a lot.

I dont know how to make a statement in Bold Italics, But what you said from the Bottom Line on, is one of the best post Ive seen on here. I tried to help people understand why we struggled so much in the running game. You hit the NAIL ON THE HEAD. Seems like from reading your post, that there is some people on here who understand Football and what happens when you have to change schemes mid-season, going from a pass happy offense to trying to run the ball. I appreciate fans like you bro, you seem to "Get it".

Whoa...I just had a chance to watch the film. Dude can fly!!! I like it! A good mix with others

Why should we listen to u? Weren't u a kicker or something?

Just kidding

I've seen Quenshauns height listed anywhere from 5'7-5'10 & his weight from 155-175.

Rivals has him at 5'10 175lbs, Watson told VQ he wants to gain 10 more lbs & start his career at 185, if thats true & he can keep his speed I'll feel a lot better about this commitment.

If you watch the way he runs and then watch Chris Johnson footage, you can see a lot of similarities. Not only elite speed, but how he makes quick cuts and hits another gear.
Didn't see any of that with Mike Davis' reel. I had never even heard of Chris Johnson until the NFL draft (his 40 time caught everyone's attention). I'm pretty happy with this pickup, even if we don't land another Big Fish.

It's funny to see how some people are so pumped about this guy while saying we didn't even want Brian kimbrow even though they are the exact same type of player

I think we need to just admit, even though it is embarrassing, that we got beat out by vandy. Sometimes but very rarely the little bro will land a few punches on big bro.

Its really not true..Kimbrow would never have been allowed to committ to UT. He did something to piss off the coach's with his terrible attitude. No Vandy did not beat us out for him.

Chris Johnson?????? That's saying a lot guy. I saw Chris Johnson once in the bowl game where he had about 400 yards of total offense by himself. He was a crazy talent even back then when people didn't know him.

Kimbrow was a Vol until camp. Where he acted like he was too big for UT. Laying on dummies and such while coaches were calling him. Why is he being brought up anyways?????

Kimbrow was eliminated as a prospect because of some issues that supposedly came up. I think we would clearly take somebody with his capabilities but without the baggage.
