'12 GA RB Mike Davis (USCe commit)

Davis IMO, is a toss up. He is waiting on NSD for a reason.

At first I did not think UGA would sign both Marshal and Davis. But then I realized that UGA and Crowell are not on good terms. I'd like to know if IC is back next year as a starter.

UGA fans?

But, but...he had a puppy at his presser last year.

GA fans silent on Crowell.....
This has been covered only a few pages back

If IC stays out of trouble and has a good spring, he will probably start, if he gets into more trouble, he won't. Or he might, who knows, its hard to predict things like this since its a year away. Last year we thought we would have Ealey and King in front of Crowell.. you saw how that turned out

That will really hurt UGA if those do not return. I have seen Marshall play this season and there is no way he can start in the SEC and even he said he wants to share carries. He is way to soft and needs atleast 1 year in a S&C program.

In big games Marshall was not that productive and those were the games he had little yardage like 43 and 65 yards. The one game he rushed for like 290+ yds it was against a team that only won 2 games and he was still in the game rushing until the end of the game. There was an article in the area that track his yds this year and said that 90%+ of his yards came to the left side. Makes sense since he ran behind the left tackle who was 6'4 310 pds blocking for him. The avg DL against his HS team was 225 the article said. Also for a 5 star RB had to imagine your team finishes 6-6. Including two losses to teams that finsihed 5-6 and 2-9, and a 31-0 blowout in the 1st round of the playoffs.

The positive for UGA fans is Marshall is a great kid on and off the field, especially in the classroom, but I write all this because I think that is why they are after Davis. Davis has a better chance of contributing than Marshall does as a freshman. So yes UGA needs Davis and I doubt Marshall has any concern about them recruiting Davis.

Watching Davis on TV last night showed he was a talented hard nose runner with some break away speed. There were several good ball players on both those teams. While not live, it was good to see a game situation v. highlight film. Hope we can land him.

I go to church (and UGA) with some guys that work for the team and actually talked with them about the whole Crowell situation the other day. They said the players really don't like Crowell at all. They dislike his apathy, his lack of drive, and his me-first attitude. Apparently Aaron White, Charles, Murray and a couple of the other veterans sat down with Crowell and even talked to him before the LSU game. I've also heard he's doing rather poorly this semester and on the verge of failing a good portion of his classes. Apparently the coaching staffs beginning to get sick of Crowell and his elitist demeanor and are considering removing him from the team. They believe he's a cancer to the team and are really looking to reload at running back this recruiting class to have a possible backup plan if Crowell doesn't reach some sort of epiphany. This is just what I heard. Don't freak out and resort to 3rd grade name calling for starting a rumor.

More evidence that Richt = Fulmer late in his career. He can get great talent but lacks the discipline to keep them focused.

It's sad to me that you have to ask people to respect your post. That should be a given.

This explains a lot of things going on with that team. Wonder if there is a similar situation with our team? Not really wondering. If we are honest about it we already know. At least CMR knows to boot them. Can't say the same for UT over the last ten years.

If there were any problems with his grades, we would know by now.. the semester is over

J Jackson is not a good example.....

I think that is a reason that last season fell apart in addition to all the other issues.....

Richt shouldnt be mentioned in the same sentence as Fulmer. Georgia is an illusion. Soft schedule saved them for a year but anyone with any sense sees UT is the program on the rise and Georgia is a sinking ship.

I disagree. First of all, any coach on any team would have wanted Crowell out of high school. He was legit 5* talent. That being said, more and more 5* high school players are coming into college thinking they are the Next Big Thing. I believe Fulmer fostered this attitude of entitlement in his latter years. Richt, to his credit, appears to recognize it and to want nothing to do with it. I would not be surprised at all if he alludes to potential playing time in his recruiting pitch to Davis.

UGA is a sinking ship, but there's been nothing to prove UT is on the rise whatsoever.
